Overall, the work went well. The job finished in a day. It started really slow although I would think the work could finish sooner. Gene Burnett instructed his workers and his supervisor for the work that had to be done at my house. Removing the rotted siding was quick. On the 16' rotted siding, it had ant's nest, so the construction area needed to be sprayed first. I did most of the spraying, and the workers were hesitant to assist me for spraying the ants. Once the 16' siding wall was installed, most of the workers started working on the chimney. One worker completed the 16' siding and trim paint. For the most parts, I had to supervise the work to see the progresses. They seemed to complete the job okay, but sometimes I also reminded the workers and the supervisor for some details that sometimes they missed. The clean-up and the debris were hauled. All siding and trim were painted properly. Gene visited the construction place in the evening to check the result. Just one small minor issue with the opening vent cover on the 16' wall that did not seem to open when the exhaust fan was on. During the siding removal, I asked Gene whether the old moist barrier would be replaced with Tyvek or with a new one. He said that the barrier was good enough. I was a little bit disappointed with his decision. Gene could do a better job if he could offer this. I could supply him the material (I could run by Home Depot/Lowes) but it seemed that he did not initiate it. I checked the material cost, and it wasn't expensive ($150/roll).
