Mike performed work on an air conditioner I have at my weekend cottage. It is mounted outdoors and I had noticed it was dripping excessively causing the box to rust. Mike came out and quickly diagnosed the problem. The fiberglass pan inside the box was cracked, leaving the water to rust out the box. He let me know that since that unit was only a 10 SEER and not sold anymore, the pan could be hard to get. He ordered it that day and it came in quickly. Once the pan arrived, he took the unit apart and replaced the pan. Next he cleaned the coil for me. While doing that he noticed there was a large amount of house insulation in the coil. That lead him to investigate further, where he found the main duct leading into the house was not sealed up properly. This opening was allowing hot air from the outside to get into the house, and cold air to leak outdoors. Plus the insulation from the walls was being sucked into my ducts. He sealed this up and fixed all the problems.
Description of Work: Replaced cracked drip pan in air handler. Cleaned coil. Sealed up opening around main air duct to outside.
