Description of Work: I responded to one of the ads on Craig’s List by HL Marine advertising a boat dock for sale. I signed a contract on May 11th, 2010 with H L Marine, LLC (Tate Chiles / T. David Young) to have a boat dock constructed. I wired H L Marine, LLC a down payment of $42,500.00 on the above date and a personal check for $5,000.00 on May the 12th. The first month into the contract the stairs / landing area connecting to the future site of the dock was constructed. The value of the stairs is around $5,000.00 according to the sub-contractor. The contract expired on Aug. 11th and to this date the dock has not been constructed or delivered. Mr. Young will not return my calls or E-mail. According to my attorney, he has informed me that Mr. Young filed for bankruptcy in 2006. He has had numerous claims against him and claim of over ~ $240,000.00 that has not been settled. I also submitted a complaint to Craig’s List notifying them of this company with no response to date.
