Mr. Eaton's follow-up on our garage door problem was exceptional.  It looked to him like the problems we were having were caused by a manufacturing defect. He got a replacement part from the manufacturer and installed it for free. He didn't have to do that, but he really stood behind the quality of his service as well as that of the product he installs. I highly recommend him.

When Dan arrived on time for our appointment he let us know in a very professional way that the springs he brought from our description of the garage door would not be sufficient because our door was the best and heaviest door on the market.

A new appointment was made for the next day and once again Dan arrived on time - this time with the larger, heavier springs. In addition to the installation of the new springs Dan also installed a second support rail at no extra charge simply because he "felt" it was the right thing to due considering the weight of the door.

Would I reccomend Dan to install your garage door or replace your broken springs? You bet I would; because if/when I have another problem with my garage door, Dan will my first call.

Thanks for a job well done Dan.

Dan was punctual, friendly, professional and very informative. I told him we were thinking of getting a new garage door and I felt that his honesty that we really didn't need one was very refreshing. Would highly recommend this business to anyone of my friends and family. Great experience all around. Couldn't ask for better.

I called Dan based on Angie's list reviews.  He scheduled and appt the next day, and arrived at the scheduled time.  He determined that the door was in need of general maintenance, at the very least.  He suggested doing that, then determining what problems weren't remedied.  After the general maintenance the door still squealed very badly.  He decided it was the bearings in the door "axle" ( probably not the right word, I can't remember what he called it).  He replaced those and the problems appear to be fixed.  He was very careful to tell what my options were, to explain what must be fixed, and what he would recommend replacing while he had it apart.  He even recommended not replacing the spring when I thought it might be part of the problem.   So, my impression is that he is extremely honest and knows what he's doing.  I've had other very popular companies out that wanted to replace the entire thing, so I'm very happy that Dan got me up and running - and hopefully got me a lot more years out of the door.

Dan came out (when he said he would) and fixed the tension and the cables. He also went over the whole door just to make sure everything was working correctly. I am very impressed with his work and the price.

The upper panel in our sectional garage door was bent (by the garage door opener) and  would barely open manually. I called and spoke to Victor on Saturday and scheduled a visit for Monday afternoon. Dan came as scheduled on Monday and looked at the door and explained how the low 7'-5" ceiling was the problem with the previous installation. He gave us an estimate of $1,130 to fix the upper section of the door, redo the tracks, install all new rollers and install a new jackshaft garage door opener. It was more than expected but we agreed and he said he would be back on Wednesday with all the parts. He came on Wednesday, as scheduled, and managed to make the door work fine despite the low ceiling. Dan finished the installation with the exception a tension sensor. The low ceiling made the installation of a tension sensor very challenging.  He was going to need some brackets, he did not have with him, to mount the sensors in the limited area available, again due to the low ceiling. Dan came back as he said and installed the tension sensor and we paid him in full.
We are very happy with the door and love the garage door opener Dan installed. Dan is very professional and efficient. I feel he helped us get our garage door done the most economical way and working in a way that will last for years. Dan is a very nice man who does great work. He knows his business and takes pride in what he does.
I would recommend Dan's Garage Doors all day long.

I called this morning and said I wished to use the Angie's list coupon for a garage door tune-up. Dan arrived as expected in the two hour afternoon window that Grace (Dan's wife) gave me. Dan wound the spring so that the door would balance and then demonstrated that it was working properly. He lubricated the hinges and pins and rollers. He tested both downward and upward force on the motorized opener and reduced the limit for upward force (it had been maxed out, I guess by the previous owner or a previous garage tech). Before leaving Dan gave some pointers and advice on maintaining the door. Dan said his warranty on labor is 90 days. In summary, Dan arrived on time, did the job he promised, did it quickly, and was very professional. I was pleased with Dan's work, and I have no complaints.

My garage door spring finally went after 13 years, and I was unable to get the garage door to open. I called 4 businesses. Two didn't answer the phone. One took 30 minutes to confirm they couldn't get here today. Mr. Dan's company answered the phone immediately, and I was told within 5 minutes of paging him that the job could be done. Mr. Dan was punctual and professional. He clearly outlined the options available to fix the immediate problem and offered suggestions to improve the long-term performance of the system. I think he was honest in his recommendations, and I am very satisfied with my experience. I would recommend his services to my family and friends.

The process began with an efficient and correct analysis of the problem. A spring was broken, so Dan measured the springs and determined that he had one that would work. There was no mention of new garage door openers, new tracks, or new rollers as the previous two fellows had insisted were absolutely necessary. Less than an hour later the spring was in place, the garage door would go up and down manually with a gentle lift, the bill was right and reasonable based on previous good work and some research, and Dan was off to his next job. Dan will make money even though he does not attempt to overcharge or sell unneeded repairs. He spends his time fixing garage doors rather than on trying to sell things the customer does not need.

On a Friday afternoon, our garage door opener malfunctioned and the door would not close manually. We called A-American and Dan came out immediately. He inspected the damage and recommended replacement of our 20+ year old garage door opener. His cost estimate was very reasonable and he did not charge us for after hours repairs even though he stayed until 8pm to complete the job. Six months later, we needed a minor adjustment of the garage door and they came out and completed the request - no charge. Dan and his staff were very professional, personable, and honest.

We called them about our problem and they were out within twenty-four hours of my call to do the repairs. They were very professional and did a great job of explaining what the problem was with our door. We haven't had any problems with our garage door since the repair was done.
