so JD is obviously unethical and dishonest, but he's really rude on top of it. the day he came out, he told me, "no problem, i'll send this report to [home warranty company] today so they can get started working on it." well, two days later, my home warranty company told me they still hadn't heard from JD. so I called him and the response I got was a very rude/sarcastic, "well, unfortunately I DO work for a living." (yes, most of us do.) I then told him that I was only calling him b/c HE had promised ME he would send the report yesterday. I explained that I don't mind when people make mistakes or forget things, but that he shouldn't be making promises to his customers and then get nasty w/them if HE fails to follow through on those promises. he eventually got a little bit more respectful during our conversation, but he had already shown his true colors so I had made my decision I wasn't going to use him.
and then i end up finding out that he was just trying to scam me for thousands of dollars when this other company tells me my unit is working fine and only needs a condenser. so be warned if you're thinking about using this company. at the very least, get a second opinion no matter WHAT this company tells you.
So, the Bullet serviceman comes over day 1 and says the unit was dirty. He cleans it thoroughly and charges about $400. Day 2, still no improvement. He comes back and does some additional work, charging us another $300-400. By day 3 when the A/C still isn't working, I'm starting to get frustrated because I'm being forced to used an incompetent repairman by Allied, yet they aren't covering any of the expenses! Each day, I ask the Bullet guy "how much is covered?" , and he basically says " None, you're on the hook for the full charges". When I start questioning his repair strategy on Day 3, he becomes irate and combative, threatening to take off without completing the job. Finally, I ask him if he's going to finish the job or not. He agrees to blow some sealant in the coil to stop what he thinks is a leak. Voila. . . A/C is finally back on and it only cost me 3 visits and $1000! Why didn't he do that the first day, instead of making up BS about the unit being dirty??!!
Of course the honeymoon only lasted about 9 months, and then the A/C went out again. Finally, we decided to not deal with Allied or Bullet anymore. What's the saying "Fool me once, shame on you. . . . . " Okay, so it took me three times before i finally woke and realized glaring truth: Bullet Mechanical provides incompetent and unprofessional service. Buyer beware.
