Appliance Science

Appliance Science never showed up when scheduled by Assurant, the company that Lowe's Home Improvement outsources to for Lowes Protection Plans on appliances purchased at Lowes in the Austin, Highland Lakes, and Hill Country areas. Furthermore, one cannot get a hold of anyone at Appliance Science. The phone number Assurant passed to me for Appliance Science is a cell number for a Marcus Rodriguez. He does not show up when scheduled by Assurant, won't call, won't return calls or texts. When I tell Assurant that Appliance Science has not shown for two service calls, they merely reschedule them. I cannot get it through the Assurant service coordinators that this firm or man will not show up, and therefore, they need to find another repair service provider. Assurant says they have no one else authorized to repair under the Lowes Protection Plans. Furthermore, one cannot get to anyone at Assurant or Lowes to elevate this problem to get another service provider.

I made a claim through Assurant on a dryer purchased at Lowes. Appliance Science was assigned. I took off work. No one showed up. Called Assurant who told me to set up another work order. Appliance Science was assigned. I took off work. No one showed up. No one answered the phone despite multiple calls. I received an email today (months later, after I just bought a new machine) stating that my work order was completed by Appliance Science through Assurant. That's just not true. They have never showed up to fix anything. This company is TERRIBLE. Shame on Lowes for contracting with this company.

Appliance Science is terrible and I hope Lowes will remove them from repair service provider. If they don't respond soon I will report to BBB and smear them on Social Media

This man is the worst!! He may be a decent service person, but not great, as he didn't diagnose either problem exactly correctly. He did order parts, but never called again. I called and texted him numerous times with no response. I reported him to GE as he was their service person. He missed appointments and never called. My problems with both items with on for months. Finally GE took up my case and sent another service person from San Antonio and my issue is now resolved. GE, Lowe's and whoever else uses him should definitely find another person.

Like other members, I purchased an extended warranty from Lowe’s and the work was contracted out to Appliance Science. They have now missed 3 appointments between October 31 - December 31, 2018, and on only one of these appointments did they actually call to let me know they couldn’t make it. They also do no follow-up after missing an appointment. Instead you have to chase them down to reschedule. Extremely unprofessional. If you can avoid this company, you should. Calling Lowe’s call center has provided little to no assistance. They clearly have no back-up plans. I’ve wasted far too much time and impacted my own business by waiting for these people to show up, and hoping the same doesn’t happen to you.

Purchased a dishwasher from Lowe's this year. Last week it stopped working properly. Called Lowe's and they scheduled Appliance Science to come to my house bewteen 8am and noon on 08/27/13 and fix the dishwasher. Never received a call from them or came to the house. Called Lowe's back to reschedule to 08/29/13 bewteen 8am and noon as I had to leave for work. On 08/29/13 again never received a between 8 am and noon. Called Lowe's back and was told I that I would soon hear from them, this was at 12:30pm. Come 3:30pm and still no call. Called Lowe's back for the last time, was told another customer had tried to contact them and only received voice mail. Lowe's also left a message on their voice mail. Was presented with the option or either filing a complaint, or re-scheduling with the same company. Decided to file a complaint and wait for the copy of my receipt from Lowe's to use a repair service recommended by the manufacturer.

His initial visit was timely and professional. He told us that he would order parts and return the next week. Nearly a month later, our dishwasher is still broken. Appliance Science will not return either Old Republic or our telephone calls. We've given up. Not even the courtesy of a call. Very unprofessional.
