After waking up to a slow leak in our office area, a fix was needed ASAP. We had been referred to All Star by our contractor/builder we've been using for our bathroom renovations and couldn't have been more pleased. All Star responded very quickly and Jason, the owner's son, was able to come out quickly and ascertain the problem. He was able to schedule the work the very next week and did the repairs himself, which was a pleasant surprise compared to other roofers we've used before. The repairs got an immediate test this week, and so far so good. We'll continue to monitor the affected areas going forward, but for now, we're extremely pleased to have the problems apparently solved.
As an aside, we're always happy to support a locally-owned, family business. Would happily recommend All Star to anyone looking for an honest, competent roofer.

Before I called All Star here in Liberty Hill, I previously had 3 other roofers to come out to fix leak onto living room ceiling. All of them said it was coming from the chimney. One said the wood around the top of the chimney was rotting and needed to be replaced, saying that was what was causing the leak, so they replaced the boards on the top edge. Another roofer said all was needed was to be caulked, so he caulked it but never painted it and in time the caulking shrunk. The 3rd one same story. Money wasted, wish I had known about All Star the first go around.
Jason came out to give us an estimate and what we had previously been told from the roofers was not even the problem. Jason found the leak in the back right away. My husband and I thought this was the worst of the leaks, boy was we wrong. Yes it was leaking onto the living room ceiling and when it rained hard, I had to put a bucket under the leak. There was a nasty stain on the ceiling and every time it rained it spread more. Jason told us the reason for the leak was coming from a place next to the dormer that needed repair, he said that was an easy fix and it was. Then he told us the boards around the exterior of the chimney had been installed wrong when the house was constructed. That the boards that run vertical on the corners should be on the outer side of the boards that run horizontal up to the top of the chimney. He discussed it with us and giving us an option of reworking the boards on the chimney or to caulk and paint it and see how that does before going to the added expense of reworking the boards completely. We went with the caulk and paint for now and have had no problems there.
He examined the living room ceiling and said the sheetrock was still in good shape, so he sealed the stain and repainted ceiling. It has been over 2 years and you can't tell even a stain or problem was there. Two of the previous roofers had said the sheetrock would have to be replace, Jason save us from that added cost.
The leak on the side from the roof onto the covered porch was a small leak, or so we thought. When Jason got up there he saw that part of the roof that had initially had the leak had not been constructed when the house was built as it should have been. The boards were rotting, where there should have been support beam underneath, there wasn't one and all this the water from the rain had caused major damage. Something we couldn't see or tell but someone with extensive roofing knowledge would know. That ended up costing more than what we initially thought, but it was money well spent.
We had called our insurance company with questions about our roof from high winds, little did I know that when I did that a claim was filed. I didn't want to file a claim I just wanted to ask some questions. The insurance company sent out a contracted adjustor to appraise damage. The appraiser saw a board on the 2nd story that had been left longer on one side with ragged unpainted edge. He told us that would later cause a problem, plus he stated some other things, then he told me he had a home repair business, hint, hint. I thought he was just being too picky about things wanting our business. When I told Jason what the contracted adjustor said about the board, he didn't see that it would cause a problem. Yes, it didn't look perfect, but you wouldn't even notice unless you knew what to look for. The board was at an angle and not easy to get to; Jason went ahead and cut the board to match the other side.
I had our cupola with weather vane taken down a year before, it needed to be sanded and restained, plus the rooster weather vane had lost his tail feather due to high winds. I had the cupola ready and waiting for someone to install it, Jason did it, making sure it was level on a round pointed high pitched roof over our gazebo porch.
He also replaced missing shingles that had blown off from high winds.
He went over the whole roof and told us our roof was still in good shape but suggested we get gutters for the 2nd floor from where the rain had run off of the dormers.
Jason was honest, very well mannered, worked diligently, found every problem and better yet, got them fixed as to our expectations. We didn't go with the added gutters, but he is right about that. We are hoping to replace our asphalt shingles with a metal roof when the time comes to have it replaced.
Again, let me say ~ This is the one to hire!
"[member name removed], WOW! Thank you for the very, very, very, nice review! I am so very, very, very, sorry that I am just now seeing it for the first time. We didn't know how to log on to Angie's List until yesterday when Mario Barron with Angie's List told us how to over the phone. I found out also that you nominated us for an award but we didn't receive it due to the fact that we didn't accept it. I accept the award but I know it's too late. We really appreciate the time and effort you took to nominate us and review our company. We are family owned and operated. Jason is our son. Thank you for the very kind words. Sincerely, Terry Paris Owner"
