I noticed a big stream of water from our refrigerator in the garage and noticed that it was not cooling and all of the frozen items had thawed. I contacted Access Appliance based on excellent reviews from Yelp. They came right on time and an elderly gentleman who said he was from Iran proceeded to diagnose the problem. He said if I decided not to use his services, he will still charge me $45 for the service call. So, I was cornered. I said go ahead with the diagnosis. He pulled out a old repair manual (I think it was bogus) and said the cost of this repair would be $270. He then proceeded to add a $15-20 starting capacitor and after a few minutes, the refrigerator was working again. I thought that $270 for a few minutes work was outrageous especially when the part was so inexpensive. I felt like I was ripped off. It is because of this experience I lost confidence in YELP's reviews and purchased Angie's List. I want everyone to know who these guys are.
