MEGA COLORS PAINTING

This is my second review for Mega Colors Painting. For this job, we had Sam come out and repair a hole in the ceiling drywall due to an accident in the attic, and he painted a door we recently had installed. Estimated price was reasonable, crew was on time and courteous, and just as before, the work was EXCELLENT. (Can't even tell there was a hole there.)  I only have good things to say about Sam and Mega Colors.

We were very pleased with the work.  The painters were clean, neat, efficient and pleasant.  We will definitely use them again.

I was shopping around for an interior paint job and Sam was very competitive with the other companies that I got estimates from. Sam and his crew painted my 2000 square foot house (walls and trim only) in about 2 days. I am very satisfied with the outcome of my paint job, and will definately use this company again.

However what Sam gave us as a service and what we actually got were two very different things. I asked for a quote on a railing job. This would include sanding, staining and varnish. I thought the quote was fair but the service was not good.When I told Sam the stain was too dark and not the right color he told me to go to the store and pick it out myself. This was after I had already given him a sample of the wood. Sam seemed to act in a very rushed manner. The sanding was not done all the way. Then he didn't wait long enough for the stain to dry. In the areas where the wood wasn't sanded properly the stain did not take hold. The stain should have been given at least two days to dry. Sam came back the very next day to put on the varnish. The varnish took off the stain in many places leaving our railing  looking rustic instead of the elegant piece that it is supposed to be. I would not use Sam again because I ended up paying for materials and now have a railing that is very substandard quality.
In a nutshell I would say Sam was too impatient and that got in the way of a positive outcome for us. I'm sorry to say I would not use Sam again in the future.

Sam, the owner, came by my house and provided a quote which was significantly less than another quote I had been provided.  Sam and his crew painted the new custom built cabinets and bathroom walls in two days.  The walls and cabinets look great.  They cleaned up after themselves and were very respectful of my property. Sam was involved in the process start to finish.  I plan to do some more painting around my house and will hire Mega Colors again.

Have used this company in the past.  They always do exactly what they say, and do a great job.

Went very well.  Painters showed up when they said they would.  Paint work was done very well.  The aluminum gutters required two coats of paint which they did without any input from me.  I had planned to let them paint a utility door with the same color paint as the trim so they wouldn't have to buy another color of paint.  However the company owner talked me into going ahead with another color as he didn't like leaving a job looking bad.  It was an opportunity for him to make a little more money but he wanted a good looking job.  They purchased longer screws to use replacing the aluminum gutters to make sure they were secure - again at their own desire to do a good job.

Sam is always prompt, respectful of our time and property, and very courteous.  His crew was capable and responsive.  Sam was at our jobs every day, usually doing a lot of the painting but always checking on his capable guys.  Several of my neighbors on my Bay Forest street use Sam, too. 

He was prompt for our estimates, and his prices are competitive.  He uses good quality paint and is a perfectionist about edging around trim, ceilings and mouldings.  Our jobs were finished on time, on budget, and they cleaned up the site every day before they left. 

I can't think of anything negative to say.  I've seen the Mega Colors van around the League City area often since we first hired them in 2008, and am always glad to see Sam is busy.  I recommend Mega Colors.

They were very professional. The owner provided a lot of hands-on work and supervision.

Sam was very prompt with coming out to give me my estimate. His employees were always on time. Sam would let us know what time he would be there and that is the time they would arrive. Sam was a very hands-on boss. I like that he was there doing the work along with his employees. They did such a great job that on top of the money they wanted to do the job we gave them extra $200 for moving everything around when it needed to be done. They made sure they clean up before they went home every evening. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs their home painted.
