Daryl’s A/C and Heating

Was punctual, and no extra charge ($79) for Saturday service call. But it went downhill from there. Technician Russ said my compressor needed $350 of freon and a $420 capacitor, $780 total. But since the compressor has a leak and is "falling apart," I should get a new compressor unit for $2,900. I paid the $79 service call and sent him on his way. So I had Jeff Ackles visit. Jeff said the capacitor worked fine and there's no reason to replace the unit now. Jeff added about 3 pounds of Freon and charged me $190, just 25% of what Daryl's wanted. Mr. Ackles said companies like these have been known to jack up the repair price in order to convince homeowners to buy a new unit. He said if I needed a capacitor, it would cost $50, not the $420 Daryl's quoted (almost 1/10th of the price). I received an excellent lesson for $79. Companies like Daryl's are unprofessional to try to rip of the consumer.. My advice is to watch out for this and similar companies, and always get a second opinion from someone you trust.

Larry Schupe came over that afternoon.  He was thorough in diagnosing and fixing the problem (low Freon) and double-checked that it was fixed. Very professional.  Answered all my questions.  
My previous A/C guy retired.  Looks like I might have found a new one!

He and his team are great to work with. Service was quick.  He even does holiday and evening service if needed for reasonable prices.

I left a message for Daryl, and he called me personally within about 15 minutes. When I told him the issue, the first thing he asked was, "How long has it been since your air filter has been changed?" He said, "I don't want to charge you for a service you don't need. Now normally our air filter is changed on time like clockwork by my hubbie, but I discovered this time that it had not been changed in 4 months...too long ago. So rather than scheduling a visit right away, Daryl kindly told me to replace the filter and wait over night to see how much difference it made. If it still was not cooling efficiently, he would stop by the next day. Perfect service for the need. By the way, this is not the first time I've called on Daryl's A/C. He has done an excellent job repairing and replacing my furnace and air conditioner over the years. Highly reccommended!

They completed all of the work in about 5 hours and cleaned up everything. The only problem I had was that they wired the Air Knight so it only came on with the A/C. We discovered this several months later when we were using the furnace and checked on the Air Knight to be sure it was on. It was not on so we called them. They came out the next day and found the problem was a simple error in the way they had hooked up the wires and fixed it immediately. Very good service.

Everything went great. They were there when they were going to be there. Did everything that was asked and went beyound that by making sure other issues were fixed. Great job and will keep uding them for all of our family's needs.

They came in about 9:30 A.M. and tore out all of the ducting and plenum. They installed a new plenum and duct to the front bedroom before they broke for lunch. This way the temp inside the house did not get unbearable as they left the A/C running while they worked on it. They finished the installation mid afternoon and cleaned up everything before they left. I am very happy with the job and the results of this installation.

My upstairs air conditioner fan was running but there was no cold air. After technician arrived and checked outside unit he found that the compressor had failed (it's a 20yr old unit). He quoted price to replace and scheduled service date. The crew arrived within 30 minutes of appointment and were done within 3 hrs. Very happy with the work the crew performed and that the price did not go up after the work was done. This is the second unit Daryl has replaced for me. The downstairs unit failed a couple years ago. Really happy with their work and the price.

Daryl returned my call quickly, came around to give an estimate, then repaired my air conditioner. His prices were quite good and he gave me advice on checking the water in the unit and washing the filter to keep the ant beds out. The repair was scheduled on the spot and Daryl was well prepared. After repairing the unit, he checked it thoroughly, washed it out and he cleaned up any mess. He did an awesome job, and was caring, courteous and polite.
