Bay Area Vet Housecalls

Veterinarians,

About us

Bay Area Veterinary Housecalls is a mobile veterinary clinic owned by Dr. Roger Terrel, who has over 28 years of experience practicing veterinary medicine and surgery. We treat pets in their own homes, where they are most comfortable. Treating your pets in your own home or in our state of the art mobile clinic helps make the most of your valuable time by minimizing wait times and eliminating the need to transport your pets to and from a clinic. With housecalls, our pets will also avoid sitting in a waiting room with ill and possibly contagious pets. A single $45 travel charge covers as many pets as you wish us to see on a single visit. Our other fees tend to be lower than standard clinics due to our lower overhead.

Roger, Dr. T. as many of his clients call him, is a complete professional, an outstanding veterinarian and a true gentleman. I most certainly would recommend his services. In actuality, outside of the house call fee, his rates for any variety of veterinary service is usually quite comparable to veterinary hospitals, clinics, etc. The "Less Stress Vet" name is quite true, in that we needn't have our pets all stressed out with transport to a clinic, and having the hubbub of the clinic add more stress to the experience. Anyone who has taken an animal companion to a clinic can most likely relate to this--especially kitty-cat "parents." I can recommend Dr. Terrell without reservation.

Dr. Terrel and Stephan were so nice!! They came to examine my dog the very next day. They are very professional and knowledgeable. They have everything they need to care for your pet in their mobile office. The price was much lower than an in office vet. I would definitely recommend them and will be using them again!

I would highly recommend Dr. Terrel and Stephanie.  My cat is very hard to work with but she allowed them to examine her and give her medications.  I am new to the area and this is the first time I've used their mobile vet services. I called Dr. Terrel to see if he could come out as this was an emergency with Sherry's eye. Even though I was a new client, Dr. Terrel called his other clients who had scheduled appointments and was able to rearrange his schedule to accommodate my  emergency with Sherry.  I am so grateful that I found such a wonderful veterinary team.

Dr. Terrell and his assistant Stephanie are wonderful. They are compassionate, relaxed and thorough in their assessment, treatment, and teaching us to care for our pets needs. They are prompt in arriving, and provide us with excellent service. Our cats are relaxed and no longer stressed when receiving veterinary service as the trip is from the front door to the mobile vet clinic, or performed right in their home with no car trip required. Highly recommend them!!

He is very good with the animals and he's very thorough. It's like a motor home and inside of it, he can do surgery, he can do x-rays, he can spay them or neuter them and he can do anything that he needs to do inside that thing. It's like a surgical center on wheels. I have two big dogs that are older and they don't like to ride in the car so if we take them to the vet, we have to take them one at a time. When he comes, he can take them out there and they love him to death and he can do whatever they need and he brings them right back and they're very happy campers. They love it.

We have an elderly, special needs cat. She's been sick lately, so we contacted Bay Area Veterinary Housecalls for an at home exam. Dr. Terrel and Stephanie were very professional and gentle with our cat. We told them about how to accommodate her special needs and they listened and did everything they could to make the exam easy on her. We couldn't have asked for more compassionate, caring people to take care of our cat. We will be using them in the future and highly recommend this A+ team.

Let's start from the beginning. My beloved cat hated to ride and always got car sick and also he hated all the noises associated with a vet clinic. We needed to schedule our appointments for our beloved pet on weekends because of our work schedule. This meant we never saw the same vet twice. Four years ago we took our beloved cat Zorro in for his yearly checkup and shots. The vet on call was a large animal vet (horses, cows, etc) We were not concerned at the time but something went terribly wrong and the next thing we knew we are screaming for help-our pet had stopped all signs of life. The vet wanted to keep him overnight, but they did not have attendants at night so I asked if I could stay with him, and since this was not allowed we took him home expecting the worst. The next day he actually improved and slowly came back to us. We made an agreement then that we would never take our pet to a vet again. He would die right there in our arms at home. I had lost all faith in veterinarians.
This all changed a few weeks ago. I had noticed that Zorro was not eating, I assumed he was just tired of the cat food, so I started buying different ones to try and interest him into eating again. That was a sign-but at the time I did not see it. I love the animal planet on TV and one of the programs commented that almost all towns had vets that made housecalls. I wish I had know this years before. Zorro needed his nails clipped, his teeth needed attention, and he wasn't eating but he seemed to be healthy. Then I noticed that his sides were swelling so I remembered what I had heard on TV and looked for a vet that made housecall in our area. That's how I met Dr Terrel and Stephanie. What a blessing they were. They came right away and the journey began, trying to save our beloved pet, but because I had waited too long, it was too late. Dr Terrel and Stephanie were there for Zorro and made the end of life care as easy as possible for all of us. He passed away in his favorite place surrounded by the two people that had loved him for all of his sixteen years of life.
Dr Terrel and Stephanie will be a part of our family from now on. I love knowing that when we do get another pet that I have a caring veterinarian that will come to my home and take care of my pets.

It was an excellent service. His price was very reasonable. He gave us good advice to help our dog. He has a great personality and his assistant is very nice as well. One of the highlights to his service is a state of the art mobile clinic. There is nothing that he couldn't do in there, checkups, surgeries, etc. I highly recommend him.

Trixie was my 10-year-old strong-willed alpha female Rottweiler. She was a good dog as long as you didn't do something to her she didn't want done. She was an absolute terror at the vet and I was told on more than one occasion not to bring her back. She had been getting progressively sick and I knew it was time to euthanize her. I could not take her to the vet because she was not walking. I was so worried how I was going to handle the details of this difficult decision. I was given Dr. Terrell's name by a local vet. He and his assistant came to my house and they were extremely compassionate. He administered Trixie a sedative before the procedure and by the grace of God, she passed peacefully. I would recommend them to anyone.

He is outstanding and has been great to work with. He is very caring and considerate of the animals. His pricing is much more reasonable than going into the clinic. It is also very convenient for the animals and care givers.

Also, your little one gets an ID card with their picture on it. I thought that was really great. It comes in so handy if we have to board the dogs. All of the information is on their card and they have the doctors information for any problems as well.
I couldn't remember the amount for the last service, which was teeth cleaning. And there was not an option on the form to show that we have been patients of Dr. Terrel for several years.
