Dr Mike was thorough, attentive to detail, empathetic toward our little boy, and up-front about the diagnosis. I could not ask for better treatment from a modern vet.

I've used the same veterinarian for probably 10 years. They usually do home visits for me. I have so many animals, I usually have to schedule a home visit. They send in reminders and they check in with me. They get on me when I forget because they know me.

They were excellent. They even send me reminders for my animal vaccination. I have used them for many years. I will use them again.

They saw me right away and it wound up being some sort of pimple specific to the breed. It was dermatological condition and I treated it and it went away and then she got her shots. If you have an emergency they will bend over backwards to see you immediately. They see all kinds of animals like birds, snakes, and there are rescue organizations that take their animals to them and they do sea turtles, hamsters and monkeys.

Vets just aren't the same any more. For years we had a wonderful vet, Dar Wilson. Since he retired, we have tried several, looking for that same and quot;old schooland quot; service, but now they are all about the money. Dr. Wilson used to advise us of everyday products we could use on our pets instead of high-priced pet-specific, condition-specific products. Animal Kingdom will match PetMeds on HeartGuard and Trifexis, but ONLY IF YOU ASK FOR IT--and you have to ask for it every time you make a purchase. The difference in price is significant!
I just have not experienced that same complete faith in a vet since Dr. Wilson. I settled on Animal Kingdom and am more satisfied than I was in several others I tried prior to finding them. It is nice that the office visit charge is lower here. Don't bring several animals at once, expecting a break. Even though it is more efficient for them and only ties up one room, you are charged a full office visit for each animal. And I'm not sure each one gets as thorough an examination.
I will compliment the vet techs and other staff. They are super! I don't mean to be critical of these vets--they are good, capable doctors, and I intend to continue to use Animal Kingdom.

Everything was done on time and we were kept informed as everything proceeded. My only complaint is that I was told to bring our dog in between 7:00 and 7:30 a.m., and I showed up at 7:30 and they didn't show up until 8:00 a.m.

I have a Lab and Blue Heeler that were formerly patients of Animal Kingdom Pet Hospital. My Lab is an easy patient, and I have no problems when bringing him to a vet, and he is very cooperative and easy for the techs to handle. However, my Blue Heeler is fear-reactive, and he is much tougher to handle for a veterinary exam. Knowing this, I muzzle him for everyone's safety prior to stepping into the vet's office. I had no problems with Dr. Kessler handling him, and good experiences with 2 of their experienced technicians. However, I had poor experiences with at least 2 of her less-experienced technicians. They did not know how to hold him with confidence, and would back off when he began to struggle (which only taught him that he would and quot;winand quot; if he put up a struggle). Unfortunately, I was told that I could only make an appointment with a specific doctor, but that whichever technician I got would be purely luck of the draw and would depend on whatever else is going on in the office at that time.
My last contact with them was last summer, when the Blue Heeler ripped a dew claw. The technician that I spoke to on the phone wanted me to bring him in the morning and leave him there until the afternoon when the doctor would have a chance to look at him. Being fear-reactive, I knew that this would not be an ideal setup for him, and when I pressed him for some detail as to where my dog would be during this time, the technician responded very rudely (telling me that they would do with him just like what they would do with any other boarded dog - which, I had never boarded a dog there before). I followed my instincts to put the mental and physical well-being of my dog first, and did NOT bring him to their office to be seen. And, I haven't been back since.
