"[member name removed], You called me because you had a mid century modern style home that had been butchered with traditional remodeling ideas from the previous homeowners. You insisted to me that you wanted to redesign your home to reflect that mid century modern style once again. This was the mindset when I came to your home. You showed me things you were having problems with in every room. To start off with you showed me your sons bathroom and the master bathroom as the first two projects. I gave you some valid suggestions on what to do, but you were trying to keep the existing materials; for example the master bathroom countertop, the tub in the master which you have to step over in order to take a shower (which was also leaking and causing damage to the wood on the outside of your home), tile on the floor with clipped corners and dark deco inserts (traditional style). You were so unfocused as to what you wanted that I suggested that you gather some photos of ideas of what you liked as a reference point, so I could have a clearer idea of what you were thinking because it was definitely not mid century modern as you had told me. I told you I would come back the following week to measure and give you an accurate bid. This is after I spent a couple of hours with you looking at these bathrooms as well as multiple unfinished projects throughout your home. I never even gave you a bid on anything, so I don't see how my prices are so much higher and overrated. With all due respect, I gave you my honest opinions on everything you had me look at. Sorry I didn't agree with the things you wanted to do. I would have been willing to explore other options with you further, but you didn't give me the chance. You wanted to keep the crown moulding in your living room, look on any mid century modern website and you will never see a single stick of crown in any of these homes. I was very polite when I gave you my opinions. I am definitely not going to do projects that are a poor combination of styles that don't go together. I am passionate about what I do, if you wanted a yes man, there are hundreds of contractors who will just take your money and do anything you say. As far as lying on this website to try and cause my business harm when we haven't done any business together…I don't get it. As far as up selling products, I don't mark up my materials, I give my customers the discounts I get at the tile stores I do business with. I looked at your home in the beginning of November, your complaint against me on prices and services never rendered are unjustified."
