"Thank you for advising us. When you did call I was not told that you still had a drip at the overflow. We will be happy to return to take a look at the drip at no charge, if it's on the repair we made. All repairs were agreed upon in advance, all photos and details are on the invoice that was signed and emailed. As far as the warranty is concerned, we can only report our findings and they make the final judgement call. I would discuss your options with the warranty in regards to coverage. In some cases they can make exceptions if you talk with your sales rep."
"We appreciate your feedback. Thanks so much for your business. We look forward to doing business with you again in the future."
"Thank you for the wonderful review. We hope we can help you again in the future with any of your plumbing needs."

"Thank you for choosing us to take care of your plumbing issues. Glad we were able to help."
Their first plumber arrived on a Friday afternoon ill-prepared to locate the leak. He did not have the right equipment, and he was too large to fit underneath the house. (They knew they were coming out to locate a leak under a pier and beam foundation.) Scout wanted to wait another week before they sent out someone else (it was their "soonest available appointment") but I insisted they come back on Monday since I had already waited several days. Meanwhile, there's water and money leaking under my house.
Their second plumber located the small pipe leak but refused to repair it, instead referring me to a water removal company. The representative from the water removal company said he gets a lot of referrals from this plumber, but in this case there was not nearly enough water for them to do any work and he didn't understand why the plumber just didn't fix it. In his own words, he told me "I don't know why you'd want to spend a few thousand dollars drying dirt." I got two second opinions and it was clear: dealing with some water in the dirt is just part of a plumber's job. After a lot of hassle between me, Scout and the home warranty company, and a few days without water, I finally got another plumber from Scout to come out and repair the leak under the home warranty?it only took him about an hour.
I suspect that Scout's second plumber either didn't want to mess with the damp conditions under the house, or he wanted a commission from the water removal guys (again, the rep from that company knew the plumber by name). It felt pretty shady, especially since another plumber easily fixed the leak in an hour the next day. It would have even been reasonable to me if they suggested they come back the next day to let it dry out a little bit; they didn't.
All in all, I wasn't expecting much from the home warranty plumber and I got even less than what I expected. If they are your warranty provider, be wary. I would not recommend Scout Plumbing.

We just moved from Washington D.C. to Texas and signed a lease on a rental property located in Rockwall, Tx. Our household includes 2 adults, several children, and a mastiff. Our move in date was May 15, 2015 and I have not had gas service since I have moved in. Our gas company was unable to turn on service to the house due to failed pressure test. May 15 was a Friday...Awesome right?
Hector from Scout Plumbing came out on Monday to try to identify what was causing the bad read from meter. The landlord of the home uses a home warranty which directed Scout Plumbing to us. Without approval from homeowner, Scout Plumbing is not allowed to move any appliances that could help identify. Dead End.
May 27 - Hector now has approval to do what needs to be done to identify what is causing the pressure test to fail. He arrives early afternoon (approximately 2pm) and is able to locate the valve to stove top which is nearly impossible to see and that I couldn't find. Runs another test and it fails again. The next step is to attempt to locate any visible leaks. He finds 4 visible leaks. 1 by the joint in the stove. 3 in the attic by the water heater and furnace area. (Let me tell you, it was a HOT and HUMID day in Texas and attics are not a fun spot to be in during these conditions!) At this point, it's now 3:30pm. I was pretty concerned about the amount of leaks that were found but Hector was very knowledgeable in explaining how this could be possible. I was satisfied with his reasoning and felt comfortable with him continuing. He made a quick run to get parts and was back by 4:30pm to get back to work. He repaired all leaks and ran another pressure test...It FAILED. NO JOKE! At this point, he cannot continue to work without approval from landlord to make small cuts into drywall to cover joints that aren't visible.
May 28 - Hector has now received approval from my landlord to do whatever needs to be done to locate and fix any leaks that the house may have. He brings an apprentice plumber with him to make the work flow smoother and faster in hopes of getting this issue resolved TODAY. They showed up around 2:30-3:00PM. Alex (apprentice) was great! He was knowledgeable and was able to answer my questions about county permits and what exactly was being done. He was very cooperative and was eager and helpful in locating an additional 5 leaks throughout the house. Even though he was younger and less experienced than Hector, he has a promising future in this field. There is now a total of 9 leaks that have either been capped for testing or replaced. The pressure test still fails. It's now 6PM. The next thing to do is to section off the house to determine which side it is coming from...That didn't sound awesome to me but I am REALLY craving a HOT shower after weeks of cold ones.
All in all, house was sectioned off. All pipes were taken apart and re-threaded due to poor installation. Some were just plain loose. 9PM - WE GET A CLEAN READ ON THE PRESSURE TEST!
Words can not express how grateful and appreciative I am of Hector's diligence and persistence that was required to solve this problem for my family.
I HIGHLY recommend Scout Plumbing to anyone requiring services. They are fair, honest, and hard workers. Ask for Hector ;)
"Thank you for those kind words. Scout Plumbing is happy we could help to get your gas restored to your home. It's wonderful to hear that our technician's did such a good job for you and that you were satisfied with the work. Again thank you and we look forward to continuing bring great service to your home in the future."
I am actually OK with paying a fair price for a fair amount of work. This is why I'm so p*****. After telling me what a major issue this was, he was here for less than 30 minutes!! For $340, he should have been here through dinner, that would have been fair!
He never had to get into the wall, the old cover where the handle was located was not taken off, sealant is the same as it was, and he replaced my nice metal handle that broke off with a $ .50 cent plastic thing. All he did was add an extension to the metal stem in the wall and attached a new, cheap, handle. Definitely NOT $340 worth of work. Actually had the audacity to write on the work order form that "additional labor was needed". Seriously?!?
I got gouged and taken advantage of, and I'm really p***** about it. I deserve at least half my money back. Again, I'm OK paying what's fair, this was not fair!
"I'm sorry we did not meet your expectations or you feel we took advantage of you. Scout Plumbing values everyone of our customers. You were given a estimate to perform the work requested which you agreed to prior to the work being done. The estimate is based on prior experiences of the time and materials needed to resolve your plumbing issue. Fortunately, the necessary repair was not as bad as it could have been and our technician was able to complete the repair in less time than expected. Most professions these days price their services the same way; whether that is your doctor, A/C mechanic, car mechanic or whoever. Feel free to contact us at any time during normal businees hours to discuss this issue further so we can get a successful resolution to your complaint. Mike Humphreys Scout Plumbing"
