Chris Bearden, Production Manager, came out to possibly fix a leak and found that we had wind and hail damage. We contacted our insurance company and they agreed. We had done business with Don Potter the owner of this company several times over the years and we didn't hesitate to hire them to do the roof. We gave Chris Bearden 50% of the up-front insurance money which Potter's required on May 8. To date they have given 3 start dates and each was a no-show, with no communication. Many calls to them with messages left; e-mails with no response. Sent a text message to Chris on 7-10-19, and he actually responded with assurance that they were doing everything they can to get our job taken care of and he would have someone from the office call us. This was nearly a month ago and no one has called. So since we gave them the deposit it has been 3 months. We found out in all these months that Don Potter retired, sold the business to David Schiller about three years ago. They are using Don Potter's good reputation and still use his website and BBB rating which is excellent. This is fraudulent and I urge you to delete them from Angie's list. I have also contacted the Better Business Bureau to do the same. We will have to file charges, and I'm not sure if we will ever get our money back. They changed their address when Don Potter moved out of state, from Lago Vista to Georgetown, Tx. We have been to this location and they are not there.

I contacted Don to get a quote for a metal roof. He was very prompt at measuring my roof and sending me a quote on a metal roof.The price was great as well! THank you!

Don Potter was quick to bid the job both for composition and exposed fastener roof. He preferred the metal roofing we eventually chose but never pushed us toward the more costly option. He sent us the website of the roof maker and let me dig around and look at what I might want. After further research on my part and a few emails and phone calls, we chose a covered fastener roof. He discussed the merits of the two available gauges and left it to us to decide based on price. I visiited the production company and got samples (gauge and color). When I decided that I'd want the thicker metal from Kynar, he gave us the price (third quote) and never seemed bothered by the continued requests for the cost for the 26 gauge and then for the 24 gauge. We paid 1/2 down at the beginning for materials (ordering the coil that produces the panel and the panels). He sent his carpenter out to fix the the rotten boards the next day. 
The crew came as soon as the weather allowed (rain just after the Christmas holidays). The newest member of his crew has been with him 12 years (not a fly by night company). They worked hard without any lapses (other than breaks and meals). They cleaned up the shingles the first day and hauled them off (must have swept for nails that day as we didn't find but one). Had to leave the panels in the drive but to be expected. Finished in a timely manner.
Don came out the next day to install the vents and check the work. He gave us tips for traversing the new roof (since we needed to paint the apron above it on two sides). We paid him the other 1/2 of the bill then. There was more damage than was known before the shingles came off and it was a $150 more but he had let us know on the 1st day the crew arrived so no surprises.
Above all he was polite, gentle, even-keeled, and professional (as was his crew). We had to fire a painter the week before Don came and it was because he couldn't adapt, accept questions without being defensive, was argumentative, and started doing sub-standard, sloppy work. Don was a breath of fresh air. A pro all the way! I could rave on about how great he is but you should just call him up and find out. 

We are very pleased with our new roof and our experience in working with Don Potter of Potter's Roofing and his crew. We were referred to Potter's Roofing by neighbors and I also saw they had good reviews here on Angie's List. After getting numerous bids we settled on Potter's roofing due to the overall value we felt like we received. We found out in the process of researching that there is a wide variety of metal roofing materials and installation methods and the price varies widely. We are installing a solar array on the roof and so that factored heavily in our decision to opt for the standing seam style of roof because those are ideal for installing solar arrays. In that class of roof, after doing much research, we found Potter's Roofing price to be in line with what it should cost and feel like we ended up with a higher quality of roof. Don has been doing this kind of roof for decades and we could tell that he really knows what he's doing.
We've already received compliments on the appearance of the roof and it is good to know we won't have to replace the roof again in our lifetime and you can even get a significant discount on your home owners insurance with a metal roof. Another side benefit is that our attic is at least 10 degrees cooler than it was with the old composition shingle roof.

I recommend Potter's Roofing Co., Inc. They're really accommodating, worked on their schedule, they put a large crew on, got it done in a hurry and they came back and inspected it. He want to make sure and want to do something custom, that kind of thing so he was hands on attention.

Don did a great job all around and the price was very reasonable. I shopped around for estimates and his came back the lowest. His team was fast and professional and I am very pleased with the product. His prices for other roofing types (shingle and riveted) were also very good. He was very responsive to my questions and concerns. I highly recommend his roofing services.

Very disappointing and unprofessional. I would not recommend this company to anyone, even though they have done business in this area for a long time.
