I very disappointed in the service that was provided to me by Daniel Page from DES Projects. I believe he took advantage of my kindness and trust. He came between 9:45a.m. and 10a.m. and I showed him the small projects that I listed above that I wanted fixed. He told me that he was going to get the materials and come back. He went to Home Depot to purchase the materials and came back with the receipt for the cost of $91.19. I asked him how much was he going to charge. He told me to pay for the materials only. I thought this was strange and I asked was he sure. He told me yes. I then decided for myself to pay him more than materials to be fair but we hadn't discussed it. I then asked him how long would it take for him to finish the small projects and he told me all day. He was an older man so I gave him the benefit of the doubt as far as the time but I thought it was strange that it would take him all day to finish these small projects. Daniel Page stayed until 6:30p.m. and was trying to suggest that one of my sink pipes needed to be replaced. I told him that I didn't think it needed to be replaced and maybe next time but that it was getting late. I asked him again how much was the cost as I held the receipt for the materials. He then stated that he charges $500 per day plus $150/hr but that he was going to reduce the cost from $150 to $80/hr plus the materials. I was shocked and I immediately stated that he didn't mention he was charging for a day and then per hour in the morning when I directly asked him what he charged. He then told me that he doesn't work for free. I told him that you should tell people upfront what you charge and not at the end of the day because that's dishonest and not fair. He didn't seem to care how I felt and didn't care that I was upset about how he basically tricked me. I had left around 4:40p.m. to pick up my daughters from school and came back. While I was out, I took out in cash $160 to give to him when he finished, thinking that he only wanted to be paid for the materials. When he told me his prices at the end of the day, I only had $160 to give him. I believed then he stretched out the day so he could say he worked the whole day at my house. I told him that he needed to leave and told him that I would send him the rest of the money through Zelle but then when I thought about paying him $600, for work that isn't worth $600, I decided to file a complaint and not pay him the rest because he tried to rip me off. I do not want to pay him the remainder of what he says I owe because he lied to me to try to make money off of me. Please look into this matter.
