I first met William Steen in 1997 as he was completing a gorgeous deck a few blocks away. I asked for his business card, and before too long he was building a large cedar deck and shade arbor for our house. His workmanship was and is impeccable: you will rarely see such craftsmanship at such an affordable price. Over the years, we occasionally re-stained the deck, but fifteen years of sun had taken their toll. We called Steen at Tejas Decks, and were delighted (though not surprised) to find out that he was still in business. He came out to the house, remembered us as soon as he saw us, and gave us an estimate on rebuilding the deck. Along with an assistant, he carefully removed the boards that needed to be replaced, put down new ones, sanded them, and stained them. The deck looks as good as new, and is as solid as the day it was first constructed. Steen does top-quality work, and at very reasonable prices considering the level of craftsmanship he employs.
