I paid $300 for a tuneup, new blades, etc. They sharpened the old blades and put them back on, then the mower would not run at all a month later. I was told "too bad." Then I got a call about my weed eater. C Lindy owner, an old woman, said it wasn't worth fixing, but I owed her about $40 for looking at it. I had not been told there would be a fee to assess it. I was surprised there was a fee. When I asked what was wrong with it I was told it would not start. Well....I already knew that, that is why I took it in for repair. When I pressed for details, even talking to the shop repairman, he could not tell me why it did not work, but I was still charged $40. A couple of weeks later I answer my phone only to hear the woman very rudely tell me she had called and called for me to come get the weed eater and pay her the $40. She threatened to press charges!! I was appalled. I had not received any phone calls, notices other than the original one, and had every intention of going after my equipment. I could not believe a business owner would treat a customer so rudely and threateningly. I had paid the $300 on the spot when I picked up my mower. And though I believed the $40 assessment fee for the weed eater was poor business, I sent a check. I left the weed eater there not wanting to ever enter that shop again. I will never use C Lindy Engine Repair again. And if someone asks me about that business I will relay a strong warning to dismal business practices, the rude and hostile behavior of the owner, and the unfair and not revealed assessment fees. Even driving past the place gives me a miserable moment. I like to keep my business local, but I will never, never again give C Lindy my business.
Description of Work: I took my riding lawnmower in for a tuneup to make ready for the spring and summer. It started at the shop when I picked it up which it had not been doing at home. I pushed my mower to my trailer and had to ask for help loading it. A month later when I tried to use it the engine would not turn over, even with jumper cables. When I called the shop it "Was too late," to guarantee the service. In the meantime, I had dropped off my weed cutter for a tuneup.
