Quoted a replacement engine, thought it was high. Did some research and purchased the engine myself and had it delivered. Not a problem with the vendor and was happy I was able to find a cheaper alternative. Vendor was happy to let me fix what I could on my own to save money. I would use them again,no problem.

Got truck right in shop drove out hour and a half leater with heat.....for 8 days then no heat. Took it back they llooked at it told me something else was wrong from last time and that I needed an appointment. On the way home truck overheated, had hole in coolent recovery tank, replaced tank and coolent had heat. Take it how you want it. Wouldnt use again personally.

I'm not what you call mechanically savvy.  This was the second time I had taken a vehicle to the shop here.  The shop is clean and nice.  The owner (I presume) helped me both times and was very personable.  They talked to me straight forward and respectful and did not try to pressure me or shame me when I had to prioritize some needed repairs.  In short, the diagnostic was accurate, the price was fair, the work was performed quickly and I was treated with respect.  I will be going back for the rest of the repairs (R) Wheel Bering and Shocks.

Trevor was the mechanic who worked on the vehicle and this guy knows his stuff! This is the third business we had taken our car to for an AC problem (not cooling). One company told us that we needed to have the entire AC system replaced (roughly $1450). A second company checked the system and said it needed nothing more than having the refrigerant replaced ($175) but had no idea where the old refrigerant went. Trevor wanted to know where the leak was so it could be fixed properly and not just milk us for more refrigerant. Turns out the only problem was a bad schrader valve (a couple bucks). The valve was replaced, new refrigerant pumped in, and after several months all is good. Trevor could have ripped us off like the other two outfits did, but he didnt, and that is why we will always use and recommend Tex Star! For those who are looking for an honest mechanic - Tex Star is the company you are looking for!

Great! The truck runs like brand new again. Amazing. I completely trust driving it again. They called the same afternoon that I dropped off the truck with a check list of items that needed to be repaired  Gave me updates with prices and exact details of what would be repaired and what they would not be able to complete.

The owner was very helpfull, he checked our vehicle and told us everything that was wrong with it. He charged us only 45.00 for a complete check. We decided not to fix the car. The office was immaculately clean. People very friendly and helpfull. I have already recomended to all my friends and I will use them again.

The owner picked up my car from my workplace and had it ready promptly after I got off work.  Very thorough and fair on price.  My car has run well since being serviced here.

Well I know nothing of cars and just PCS to Fort Hood. Did not have time to find out who is the go to HONEST mechanics in town. Turns out I found them. 
After Sears tried to charge me for them literally doing NOTHING to my car for 2 days. So then I called Tex Star up. They had an idea what the issue was, but wanted to do a through check. They went thro my car very throughly and called me up with a list of "must do ASAP" and need to do over time. Options are nice. 
in the end 24 hours later; my car was fixed for a reasonable price, fast, professionally and with a small discount. I have taken my other car there and referred many friends. Very satisfied with this business

Timely, great work...had a persistent check engine light that the mechanic fully pursued until resolution, and threw in installation of new headlights, to boot!  VERY well pleased with this company, and will do business with them again!

I checked Angie's list and found Tex Star.  My truck is an 86 Dodge with power windows that weren't working, I brought the truck to
Tex Star to check out. They called the next day and  said it needed a switch and that they had to order it and would take a few days because they had to find it. I picked up the truck.  About a week later, I checked with them and found out that the man I had talked to had had an emergency and hadn't ordered it and the man that took over hadn't ordered it. The apologized and they ordered it and it came in a few days later.  They had problems after they installed it called me and informed me and gave me the choice of Tex Star checking it out more or taking it back to the people that had worked on it before. I chose Tex Star.  They found the problem and told me when I picked up the vehicle that the drivers side window worked fine but the passenger side window was a little stubborn but it works.  I'm pleased with the results.  I will use Tex Star again.

Everyone was very helpful and they were more than fair about what they
charged while they were trying to figure out the issue and how they
charged out their service time.  I have since decided to sell the truck
but it is unrelated to their service.  They made me feel confident that
they were not trying to pull the wool over my eyes even though I did not
know anything.  They also honored their coupon on Angies list and
offered to apply it to any future work they had diagnosed as needing
done in the future (some belt and hose replacement and shocks - which I
knew needed done when I took in the truck).  I would recommend them.
