My wife and I had not a very good experience with them. For the amount of money that the people from who we purchased the home paid for service, they did a very poor job. They were contracted by the previous owners and they cleaned our house. It wasn't cheap for what we got. They came in late. I would not recommend them to anybody. They do false advertising; they show the people that if we contract them it is going to be a total housecleaning. These people showed up around noon or actually close to 1 o'clock in the afternoon and there is no way they could clean an entire house with two people in four hours. They promised that there was going to be a team of five or six ladies or people that were going to be coming in but only two people showed up. We let the people the know that did contract them and they indeed did call Merry Maids. Merry Maids then got back to us and kind of put the blame on us for not calling them but we didn't feel it was our duty to call them. I think they are going to compensate the people that contacted them and for how much money I don't know.

Did OK job -- price too high

They don't always wet dust as requested. Sometimes they run a cloth over surfaces without getting the dust.
They don't mop all of the kitchen floor - they ignored areas under tables and in an area where we have a dog pen (without the dog). They do clean bathrooms very well.
The blinds they dust are always left in such a way that they look like they're not lined up (slats are undone from their strings). It's done quickly, but without care for how they look afterward.
They change sheets, but never place pillows and other covers back in their usual places - always have to redo the placements.
They also have begun adding charges for appointment changes, when these used to be free. We were chargeed $40 for cancelling an appointment that would have taken place 23 hours and 56 minutes later, claiming that we hadn't requested the chenge within 24 hours of the appointment. That's splitting hairs a bit thin.
Also, there have been issues with neither of the cleaning personnel speaking enough English to ask if they should change a pillowcase. Shaking a pillowcase at my wife and speaking to her in Spanish wasn't helpful. My wife had to call the Merry Maids office and have that person translate what the maid was trying to say. That is not a helpful situation. If my wife needs something done she should be able to communicate that to the service provider without calling the main office for a translation.
We have stopped using this company, and have found another service that is faster with more attention to detail and the "little things." Earthwise House Cleaning has friendlier staff and is not as expensive as Merry Maids. I highly recommend Earthwise!

Obviously I've been very satisfied because I've stayed with them. I use them every two weeks. They price the job out based on the size of the house, dogs, kids, etc. I think they are reasonable. They work with you and do things the way you want. They are very, very thorough. They keep the house immaculate. My neighbor is picky and approves. Construction guys have even mentioned it. Christine is the local manager and they try to accommodate any schedule changes, they are very flexible if I have something come up.

They come every three weeks to dust, vacuum, clean bathrooms and floors. Their price seems fair, but I have nothing to compare it to.
