Cornbread and Sons is a family owned business. Now ran by my wife and I. We are Members of the Better Business Bureau Serving the Texas Hill Country since 1996. We inspect your chimney, see if cleaning is necessary, and if so we clean it, we promise not to leave you a mess. We are Certified Air Duct Cleaning Specialists and we also clean dryer vents. We take pride in our work, and strive to do the best job possible. We accept cash or checks

We offer air duct cleaning, chimney sweeping (and minor repairs) and dryer vent cleaning, we also carry chimney caps in all different sizes if we do not have the size needed for the job we measure and build to suit.

Do not use this company!!! A couple of weeks ago, I contacted Cornbread and Sons requesting a chimney sweep after having a chimney fire earlier in the month. We explained the age of our chimney, the fire, etc and they agreed to the sweep. When they arrived, they took 3 cell phone pics (calling that a visual inspection), said they would not complete the agreed upon sweep b/c the chimney was unlined. They charged us $150 for a 10 min visit left!!!! We never asked for or agreed to, a “visual inspection” and had we known in advance that this was their plan, we would have told them not to come. In a google review, they did the exact same thing to a lady named Penny. What a rip-off! A reputable company, Clean as a Whistle just left our home after completing a chimney sweep. "I LJ the owner am so very sorry you are not satisfied with the service that we performed at your home. None of these concerns were brought to mine nore my wifes attention while we were at your home while we explained the situation and you wrote us a check. Our company had been in business since 1996. I am a certified chimney sweep, and we follow a set of codes that ensure you get a proper inspection. We inspected your fireplace from the ground and also on your roof, and noted the issues that warrent our company not to sweep a fireplace, because we do hold insurance on our business, and we will not take on liability for something we know is extremely unsafe and will put homes at risk for a fire. We not only drove over 45 minutes to your house but also inspected from your roof, took pictures, left a report, and emailed a detailed email to you about our findings. We also stated that if you were to go to your insurance with it, we would help talk to your adjuster to make sure we could do everything we could to help you get the issues resolved. When we did not get your report to you in the time you think we should have, before the end of the workday, you messaged us stating you have not received your report. We then emailed you at the end of our workday your report. You received our report. The next day, i received word from my bank that the check had been canceled. I am sorry you feel that our report of your unlined fireplace did not meet your standards. As far as a chimney sweep that sweeps an unlined fireplace, that is the choice of their company and the liability for that company now. As i stated in our email to you, we follow the NFPA 211 code 7.2.2.1, which states that masonry chimneys shall be lined, rock and mortar are not considered an approved liner."

We have two large dogs and two inside cats. My dryer and vent take a beating from the fur factor. In addition to this, the dryer vent hose is about 20 feet and goes through the foundation before it exits the home. Owner and technician, LJ, was diligent and careful when moving the dryer and refrigerator to access the vent opening. He was also careful while in the flower bed to access the vent exit. Clogs were removed and the dryer is now running very well. The fireplace was cleaned of ashes, chimney swept and inspected. All reported in good condition. A cloth was used to cover the hearth and floor in front of the fireplace All dust was contained and there was no evidence of dust or ashes in the surrounding area. Excellent work.....plus......a little something extra. On his way out, LJ took a drill and secured a fence picket that he noticed was loose!

These folks do a great job. They were on time and did a very professional job. This is the second year in a row Cornbread & Sons Chimney Sweep has cleaned our tall masonry chimney. I asked them to put me on an annual cleaning cycle. Great people!!

A professional team of two arrived at the scheduled day and time with tools and equipment to repair the two chimney flues. They cleaned the flue, painted the inside of the fireplace black to make it look awesome and installed a fire arrestor,
