Preferred Pool

I am writing to you on behalf of my mother, Sheree Huddleston, from Gun Barrel City, in hopes that your investigative reporting can bring her nightmare to an end. Last July she and her husband hired Bill Irvin of Preferred Pool Corp to build a $52K (approx.) pool with a contract stating it would be complete by October 1, 2014. Mr. Irvin has taken $45K (approx.) from them and left them with a cement hole in the ground with the wrong walkway materials and no equipment (electrical, pump, etc). He slowly quit answering the phone, would not show up for set appointments to talk about the project completion, would not respond to attorney’s letters and has been unaccountable in finishing/supplying what is already paid for. My mother filed two BBB complaints as you can see from the link below. It has made her physically sick paying this much money for a product they cannot use. My parents contacted another pool company in hopes of getting the job finished before the summer but that's another $30K and hiring a construction lawyer would not guarantee the job would get finished. I did put a call in to Mr. Irvin last week to make sure the phone numbers were valid and he was still in business. I inquired on getting a pool built and he quoted, “his mission is to service the customer through and after the construction,” “his service agreement is 40 days weather depending,” “there’s no benefit to the contractor to drag a project out because that’s less of a profit on their end,” “there’s no hold up in getting a new project started soon as he only has 5 currently under construction.” These comments let me know that Mr. Irvin has completely gone about his business without regard to the costly project he started for my parents. Please let me know the formal procedures to begin an investigative report against Mr. Bill Irvin/Preferred Pool, Inc.
