About us

The Klapprodt Pool Companies are family owned and operated. The founder, Fred Klapprodt, began in 1987 as Fort Worth’s premier pool builder. Since that time, the name Klapprodt has become synonymous with quality and customer satisfaction in the swimming pool industry. He and his oldest son formed the current construction company in 1997. Klapprodt's Pools has experienced steady growth through the years and has expanded through the creation of a service company, as well as a retail store. Fred’s other two sons, Jeremy and Josh, have since joined up with the companies, in addition to a number of longtime friends who do not share the last name, but the pride and workmanship that go with it. I'm sure it's worth it. It was painful paying the amount we did, but I would say it's worth it. Klapprodt was excellent.

Excellent service! Overall process was very smooth. All work was completed on time and on budget. Highly recommend Christy (designer) and Travis (project manager) as they both did a great job.

While there were issues and hiccups, our experience putting in a pool with Klapprodt seems to be far superior to what others experienced with other local pool builders.  We were delayed due to the long rains in Spring/Summer 2015, however, we finally broke ground on June 6 and water was going into the pool on July 8.  We were completely finished with all landscaping and finish out by the end of July (less than 8 weeks total).  All details were completed to our expectations.

Matt Kratz was wonderful to work with! We gave him our wants, needs and wish list and our budget. He came back with the perfect design for our limited space. He told us it would take 6 weeks from signing before the dig could begin and it was exactly that. He said it would take 6 weeks for completion and it was finished right on time.
The only glitch we experienced was a change of a construction supervisor. Very minor. The new supervisor, Kevin, was attentive and responsive to all of our questions and concerns.
All of the subcontractors such as landscaping, fencing, etc. were of the same high caliber as Klapprodt.
I would definitely recommend them to family and friends.

It went great. Chad did an excellent job explaining all my options with regards to the layout of my backyard. He described in detail the precision of how the process would work for my yard. He gave me some great ideas and suggestions for my pool. I have done a lot of work with Chad in the past and the whole Klapprodt experience is worth my time. I would use them in the future.

The office sent me an email with the basic information of services and fees. However, I really wanted to have someone come out, look at the issues we have with our pool, explain to us what could be done along with detailed info about each visit, i.e. would the same person come out, was it the same time, same day each week, and so on. They sent a young man who barely provided any information on weekly services...instead suggested that I call the office. Not what I was hoping for. Now as to the work performed, he did what he was supposed to do. The problem....he sprayed down the filter on our patio. This left a nasty mess that WE had to clean up. Plus his whole attitude was "I'm just here to do my job". Maybe it was simply a case of sending the wrong guy for an initial visit....but I was not impressed. We have since hired another company to do our weekly maintenace.

I chose them because I did some online research and found out that they were pretty good. Overall, they were prompt with their time. They did what they said they were going to do. There were a few hiccups here and there, but they took care of them immediately. They have also come back and taken care of the problems we had within 48 hours. So that’s excellent for residential people. I got 3 bids and everybody was in the same ballpark. They weren’t high or low. They were medium. The quality has been excellent so far.

We needed our pool resurfaced. I called for an estimate and they were very responsive in coming out. They were also relatively competitive on price. I appreciated that they were sensitive to the costs involved and didn't push too hard to upsell, etc. However, scheduling the plastering was difficult and dates kept slipping which worried me because they had already drained and prepped the pool. (a different team from the plaster team). Once the plaster team arrived, they worked quickly and professionally. The only other negative experience was that it rained hours after filling the pool. This caused brown streaks to to stain the fresh white (extra stain resistant) plaster. I called about it and they said to wait until the chemicals are added and balanced - it should go away. The streaks faded but did not go away completely. I would recommend waiting for 2-4 days of sunshine if scheduling a resurface. Otherwise, I was very happy with the service. Final note, if you pay by credit card, you are required to pay the merchant fee. I can't remember the percentage exactly but somewhere in the 2% range. You are required to pay half up front and half when the job is completed. I would recommend this company but you'll have to stay on them for scheduling.
