Gary, Dez and their crew did a great job on our kitchen remodel. We have an odd shaped kitchen (octagon) making it difficult to find pre-manufactured cabinets.
The remodel work was completed on schedule. The crew cleaned up at the end of each day and answered any questions or concerns we had along the way.
Installation of the custom cabinets was done by another G&C crew. They were professional and exact. The quality of the cabinets is top-notch and they are beautiful! The cabinets are 100% plywood, no particle board.
Any issues we had, Gary or Dez were on it immediately. As an example, one cabinet door was marred so Gary took it back to be repaired. After noticing the finish did not match exactly, Gary built and finished a new door. Even several months after installation and completion of the project, G&C has been responsive to our request to come out and make adjustments and fix minor problems that we've noticed.
Meanwhile, the end result is beautiful, highly functional, and absolutely transforms the way we live in our house. The custom cabinetry is expensive but absolutely superb quality, and all the other remodeling work was done with such care. For example, the rest of the house had wood floors, so we wanted to carry those through the remodeled areas, but matching the 50 year old oak stain was very challenging, but they stuck with it, even had to re-sand a bad color off the whole thing, and start over, but it ended up PERFECT. They simply get it right.
I seriously can't rave about them enough. I'm sure you can find someone to do your remodel cheaper, but at what cost to your sanity and compromised quality? I won't use anybody else for remodeling work as long as they'll do it.
"Thank you for letting us do your remodel and manufacture of your cabinets. We are very sensitive to the fact that we have to "invade your space" for a number of weeks, and we try our best to make that part as easy for you to tolerate as possible. And no, we didn't mind your many questions and texts at all. In fact, we are more than happy to have an ongoing conversation about what is happening and what the next steps are. There are actually some times when we do accidentally overlook an item here and there, and your questions sometimes remind us of them. You were a pleasure working for."
We feel very thankful to have found Gary! He was very personable and helpful from the first day. He assisted us with designing our new kitchen and worked with us through remodel issues and always had professional insight for making the plan work. There were times we changed the layout of drawers or other spaces, and he was always happy to help. He provided computer drawings via email
that we could look at to see how the new cabinets would look. Gary helped us when we had questions or didn't know how to make the cabinets in the space look just right.
The work was done on time, and though the quality was higher than other companies we looked at, the price was fair. Everything was custom to our space, and we would not hesitate to recommend Gary and the crew. We trusted them and they met our hopes and expectations.
"It was our pleasure to work with you on your kitchen. We found your ideas and design sense to be very practical and aesthetically pleasing. We love building and installing cabinets that we know will look great when finished!"
We never had attempted the type of remodel that we we were about to take on, and I am here to tell you Gary, Des and the rest of the G&C construction team did a GREAT JOB!
TimeLine: They presented an 8 week timeline, and met their timeline
Budget: Budget was met and not exceeded.
Cleanliness: We lived in the home during the remodel and the G&C construction team cleaned up the site at the end of each day.
Communication: The whole G&C construction team kept us informed on what had been accomplished, what the next steps were and what we could anticipate.
Craftmanship: The work G&C performed was complete and accurate. In fact once we got to the punch list it was difficult to find items that required there attention.
G&C construction did a great job, there follow up was unprecented, the owner was onsight, there crew was courteous and friendly, the quality of work was awesome and the end result is they helped us transform a house into a home.
I cannot say enough good things about G&C construction, Gary and Des, and the crew that worked on our home, would I use them again? YES! and in fact we will be using them to remodel the master bath!
"It was a sheer privilege working with you on your kitchen! We appreciated your enthusiasm and constant encouragement to everyone who "invaded your space" and we're very happy that you're happy. You have a beautiful kitchen which we are proud of being a part of. We look forward to working with you in the near future (building and installing a work center for your study) and the distant future (your bathroom)."
We were introduced to G+C Construction by our designer, Vivienne Notelovitz CKD (Kitchens Designed by Vivienne, LLC). On the first visit, the owner, Gary Steyn, came with Vivienne and brought a sample cabinet which had wonderful features (beautiful cherry with rounded soft closing doors, very well constructed and could be built and stained to our desire). The company specializes in custom cabinetry. He named our project leader who would be there day in and out and gave us a timeline. On the next visit and the beginning of the remodel he brought Danny Morales, the project leader, and his brother Steven. Both of them had a very strong work ethic, were very professional yet personable and always courteous and respectful of our time and belongings. Each day of the demolition and subsequent remodel they were there when they said they would be there, they took care to diminish the dirt and noise as much as they could and each night they cleaned up and stored their tools together. They always let us know what we could expect to happen and when. They seemed to be able to handle any little problems that came up. They removed nine foot of wall to open up the kitchen to a family room. They installed new can lights, they made electrical changes, switched the plumbing from one side of the kitchen to the other and moved stove fixtures from one side to the other. Then the new cabinets were brought in and they are truly beautiful and very functional. They exceeded our every expectation. Of special import was a coffee station with a sliding shelf that can be pulled out to allow adding the water They had also done a beautiful wine rack. The entire project was completed in nine weeks and this was done over the holidays at our request. We have found the owner and his brother to be exceptional, honest, hard working and with great integrity. They were very customer oriented. They gave us more than we expected and we would utilize them again in a minute. We are very very pleased with the result.
"Thank you for making our experience with you so pleasant! We're as pleased with the result as you are, and we were very impressed with the practicality and beauty of your choices of cabinet, door color and style, tile, backsplash and furnishings. Your hutch is worthy of featuring in a design magazine!"
