DPS RENOVATION & CONSTRUCTION SERVICES

A contract was written up by the contractor Dave Partlow and girlfriend Caroline and was signed by we the homeowner and Dave the contract. We the homeowner applied for a $50,000 home improvement loan to have the repairs done to our home. There was a delay by the bank and we notified Dave and advised and we all agreed once the bank approved the deposit and funds were available the job cold be started, in the meantime we paid out of pocket for the back patio concrete replacement, Dave requested $20,000 in cash up front to pay his crew and to obtain material to do the rest of the work and the $20,000 cash was given to Dave. Once the weather was right we continued to try to get Dave out to start repairs and was unable to reach him and his voicemail box was full and no way to leave voicemail. I called his girlfriend Caroline who advised they were splitting up and Caroline advised we get an attorney to try to get out money back as she was sure that Dave invested our money on his meth and crack Cocaine habit. Dave’s framer came backed and asked if he could finish the job, Willie the framer was given the job and done a very brilliant job on our home, Dave never paid his framers for the half a day job he had material for that he brought to our home with a bumper pull trailer. We have the signed contract and phone text msg’s between us the homeowner and Dave the contractor for records. We will be filing a law suit on this contractor for all cost of court and lawyers fees and punitive damages and the $20,000 we paid cash to Dave to be our general contractor who came highly recommended by a friend who has used Dave in the past, who also stated he will never use him again either. People please be aware of this contractor unless you want to help supply his bad drug habits.

We had bad hailstorms in our area that punched holes into our roof. After searching online, we decided to contact DPS Renovation to get a quote. David Q and his team were AMAZING with helping us get quotes, deal with our insurance company, and sort through the paperwork involved when filing a claim. He worked within our refund amount to re-do our entire roof, not just do patch-work for where the hail hit. He had several options presented to us for colors, types, layout, and venting for the roof. His team worked quickly to completely re-do our roof in one day. We have not had a single issue with them, and our roof is perfect now.

It was a total disaster!! Despite our emphasis on quality, their idea of work was to spray paint the house quickly, no prime, poor preparation: paint spattered and splashed everywhere: on closet shelves, window sills and under the window sills, baseboards, crown molding, door trims, etc. On the spray painted walls, you can even see the streaking (direction of spray). When we decided to terminate the contract, DPS removed their equipments, but left our house in a total mess: with trash everywhere, and of course, the disaster of their spraying job. We spent 10 hours over the weekend to scrub, scrape, wipe, and clean the spattered paint on all trims and inside the closets. In addition, DPS refused to refund our money. They even refused to refund the money for another job (some exterior work- caulking windows, landscaping, etc.) which they did not even start. They hung up on us and ignored our email. We have reported to BBB, and are ready for court action.
