There's nothing like a professional trim carpenter to make a tricky job go really well! My new, mirrored and very heavy doors were hung beautifully into an existing opening, and it took a lot of talent and finesse to do it! Very heavy mirror was mathematically centered over a mantle using a French cleat. The rotted lintels in my garage were replaced with new, treated timber. This is the second job that Cutting Edge Trim has done for me. The first time, they did the baseboards throughout the entire house. They are absolutely beautiful and one of my favorite features of my house to this day. James and Randy also did really stunning crown molding in my kitchen and installed a chair rail. James very easy to work with and I feel totally comfortable having him around, and this is very important to me because I have homeschooled children around during the day. He is a serious Christian person and a perfectionist. I also noticed that his tools were top-of-the-line and neatly maintained, right down to the shop-vac he used to clean the work area well after he was done. It was totally worth it to hire the expertise of a trim carpenter, especially one as skilled as James Walker.

We're beginning to do minor remodeling projects and we hired Cutting Edge to do the trim work. They hung beautiful crown moulding in my living & dining rooms. This wasn't regular standard crown. It was almost 7" and more difficult than average. The job came out so perfect that we already scheduled Cutting Edge to do crown upstairs in my family room and hallway. We have a number of carpentry projects coming up and plan to use Cutting Edge for all of them.

Great! We had a general contractor do the same work last year. Everything looked fine at first, but the wood started warping and sagging. We finally decided to call an actual trim carpenter to demo and install it again. The quality this time was far superior. I'm so glad the old mess is fixed. Thanks so much, James.

The owner seemed very nice when he came to estimate the job. I incorrectly assumed that he would be the one doing the work since he said it would be straight forward and would not take long to complete. He, nor his daughter who scheduled the appointment, ever mentioned someone else coming out. It was always "James will be there". A "helper" actually showed up the day we were scheduled. I left the worker alone because I thought What could go wrong? What I didn't notice until after he left is that he cut the molding too long and jammed it against the cabinet so hard it pushed the side of the cabinet away from the floor grout, leaving a space between the cabinet and the grout and bowed out along the wall. James did come out and tried to fix it but could not get the cabinet pulled back into place. I had to re-grout to fill in the gap. I'm not terribly fussy, but a trim carpenter really should have been able to do a better job. James tried to make excuses (the wall is uneven, the grout wasn't there, etc.) but I know what my cabinet and floor looked like before the work was performed. I finally just asked him to leave.

Very prompt with first notification and estimate. Cheyenne was great in keeping me updated on schedule and time. Since I was not sure exactly what I wanted or what would look better, James was very helpful with suggestions and it turned out beautiful. Excellent craftsmanship---a very professional installation of the crown moulding. They promptly gave me an estimate, it was easy to schedule the installation date and they showed up on the installation date. After completing the job they cleaned up and left the house in the same condition as before the job.

The work was done beautifully and included caulking the crown as it was installed. The installation included a couple of odd inside and outside corners. James and his team were punctual and did the work in a professional manner. In addition, they worked with me to have the crown molding and cradle molding delivered in advance so it could be painted prior to installation making it easier to finish out after install.

Initially James had some trouble with his supplier providing the maple door, jam, and casing that he ordered and had delivered to my house. When the door was delivered the first time and I contacted James because I felt it didn't look right, he dropped everything and came over to inspect the door. Through 3 incorrect deliveries, James stayed on top of each problem, keeping me in the loop at all times. I couldn't have asked for a more dependable or professional contractor. When the correct maple door, jam and casing were all delivered, he was ready to install the next day. The whole project took just a few hours and when he finished, the kitchen was as clean as he found it. Not one speck of saw dust, nail, etc. remained on the floor. The painter showed up right on schedule, completing his portion of the job peefectly. I now have a beautiful new stain grade pantry door that I am so very proud of.

If you are looking for quality home improvements by a trustworthy company, James with Cutting Edge Trim is as honest as they come. My aunt's home needed some critical repairs after she fell and broke her arm, including the installation of a new back door and adjustments to her front door. I called James for an estimate and he came out the same day. From start to finish James and his crew (Jeremy and Randy) were wonderful to work with. The quality of their work is top notch... the new back door they installed works better than when the house was brand new! I'm fairly certain they installed additional hardware than what was originally estimated. The kindness and professionalism meant so much to me and my aunt. We are so grateful that God led us to James and his team to help us complete these necessary home repairs during a stressful time.

The doors are fantastic; so much better than the old brown, hollow doors from 45 years ago. And they open and shut much better than our old doors. We are very happy with them. James had some problems with his supplier, but he communicated with us and let us know what was going on the whole time.
We will probably buy a new house in the next few years, and we will will get him to replace the doors if needed.
