Your Katy Plumber

I purchased an Angie's list deal for a water heater replacement for $850 (40 Gallon WH install and removal of old unit) from Your Katy Plumber but when you get the contact info you are connected to Big State Plumbing. I claimed the deal on Friday 03/15/19 at 11:30am and I put urgent on the notes as I had no hot water. I did not hear from anyone at Big State Plumbing so I called the contact number Saturday afternoon and I was told "I was just about to call you". The earliest available appointment was not until Wednesday 03/20/19 with a block from 8am - Noon. They send you a text the day before to remind you of your appt. On the day of the service, I got a text at 10:15am giving the name & pic of the Technician and stating that he was on his way. He arrived at 10:50am and I showed him to the non-working water heater. He began his work by draining the old unit. After he had unloaded the new unit from his Van and began prep for installation, I popped in the garage to check his progress and I noted that he was about to install a Bradford White (brand I was unfamiliar with) water heater. I stopped him and informed him that the deal I had signed up for included a Rheem water heater and that is what I wanted. He stated that the Bradford White is all they had at their warehouse so that's what he brought. He asked to see a copy of the printed Angie's list deal which I showed him and he took a picture. He then called someone at his office to ask if someone could bring him a Rheem WH but no luck. He then stated that he would have to go buy one and come back which was okay since the old unit was draining. He then left to go get the Rheem WH and was gone approx. 1.5 hours. Once he returned with the correct WH, the installation it self was pretty fast and painless. The Technician was very polite and he had a good attitude when I told him I wanted the Rheem unit as quoted in the deal but I do feel like the company was practicing a bit of bait and switch with the other unit. I have never heard of Bradford White but I am willing to bet that the water heater from them cost less than the Rheem unit. Overall, I am very grateful to have hot water after a week without. I feel like the deal was a fair bargain, not great but I didn't want to go through the hassle of buying and installing a new water heater and disposing of the old one so that helps me feel like the price was a good deal. I think the Technician should be aware of the contracted work including the terms of the "deal" purchased and the dispatcher should have been a bit faster contacting me to schedule so I didn't have to call them. Bottom line, not sure if I would use them again. Plus what is up with the name change? Your Katy Plumber has an "A" on Angie's list but Big State Plumbing has a "B"

Daniel came out and walked me through all of my questions and I had a ton! Explained the rationale of why I couldn’t just replace one water heater since one did fine for almost two years. They were courteous and understanding that this was a huge expense. Super professional!!! Next day showed up and completed the job and cleaned up after!

The people are good people . I did my research for Your Katy plumbing but this company name has changed. It is now Big Texas Plumbing and I guess the company is so big it took 3 days to fix it. It could have been 4 days but I called to speak with manager/owner and they called my plumber, My Plumber Richard Buchannan was really knowledgeable and explain all the process to me, he kept me in the loop. The dispatch is were the trouble is they are having the employee drive from far away places instead of getting a local one by me. I only stayed because of Richard Buchannan , I almost was going to cancel with them but I only stayed for the excellent service Richard gave to me.

Went well, as expected

Very accomodative. I was a little late but Richard did not mind getting in my house and started the job.

Lost money. Never called and did not reply to the repeated emails.

The service tech was punctual, very professional and friendly. The company has a gps tracker so the customer knows where the tech is in route to your home. Awesome experience. I wish I had called sooner.

The technician[ Jeff Wollard] was at my house.He was very knowledgeable,professional and respectful.He made very good work.

Called at 11:30 am and by 2 the technician (Jeff) was at our house. He finished in one hour and 15 minutes.He was respectful, professional and fast.

Jason came on time and asked me what's the reason for this call. I gave him the details of my experience with the previous companies. He checked and did not agree with what I have been told by these companies. He explained to me what he thinks has happened and he would do. His explanation seems logical to me. he installed a new heater in my attic with a water safety sensor so it will shut the water heater of it anything ever happens.

Went well it was a two day project they should up on time with badges and uniforms. David the General Manager made sure I was 100% satisfied. I received a text each day when the plumber was on the way. I was able to track the plumber from their office to my home from the text. Awesome company would recommend!

Plumber was efficient in repairing the leaking pex in the garage of our new home. He was on time, courteous, and professional. He made the smallest hole possible to fix the pipe and was completed in less than 30 minutes.
