The move went very well. Everything arrived unbroken and undamaged. However, it took me about a week to unpack all the kitchen boxes that the movers packed up. I then realized I was missing one cabinet's worth of dishes. I thought I checked every cabinet before we moved but, unbelievably, my husband, my realtor, the movers and I somehow didn't check that one cabinet. After contacting the new owners, I was told the dishes were still in the old house. When I contacted Gerald Hudson, the owner of Soft Touch, he was very upset that the cabinet was missed. He made arrangements to go back to my former home and he personally packed up the missed dishes. He wanted to drive them all the way to Bryan but I persuaded him to let me meet him half way. He was so responsive and called me multiple times to make arrangements to pick up the dishes and get them to me. He had already been paid in full for the move and I was so impressed how he went out of his way to make sure I got my missing dishes. He is unbelievably responsible and trustworthy. I would not hesitate to use his company again and I highly recommend Soft Touch Moving Service.
My request was to have a couple of pieces of furniture picked up from a shop in Spring and have them delivered to my home in Katy. He immediately indicated he could do it the very next day, and he also quoted a price for the service.
I thought the rate was very fair, and I accepted it. I had the shop owner text him the address and other contact information, and I got an email acknowledgement from Gerald the same evening that he'd take care of the work, no problem.
Exactly as promised, he was at the shop at the stated time and took care to ensure that the pieces (both very old antiques) were wrapped properly and securely. I know this because the shop owner called to update me on the status, and said the movers were there and that they'd be on their way to my home shortly, and that Gerald and his assistant, Jesse, were taking care of things really well and were being very thorough.
Gerald and Jesse showed up at my home within an hour of leaving Spring, and when I saw how the pieces had been wrapped and secured, I was quite impressed. It showed professionalism and pride.
Once they had the pieces inside the house, they moved them to precisely where we wanted them. While at it, they also helped me take down a painting and put up another piece in its place, for which, without any prompting by them or any hesitation from my side, I added $10 to the negotiated price. He certainly didn't expect it, but I felt because I'd taken his help with something I hadn't thought of before I should compensate him for it, however minor the task may have been.
My wife and I especially liked the way Gerald went about business: He's extremely pleasant, professional, and has a deeply respectful attitude towards his customer. He also takes a lot of pride and joy in his work. It's a really rewarding experience working with him because he takes the stress away from the moving process by being prompt with responding to questions or concerns, and by taking the time to explain how he packs the things he moves and how he'll unload and move it to the desired location.
The other reason why I'll recommend him to my friends is that he's just a good person all-around, and works hard to please his customers. Service is definitely one of his strongest points, which is quite rare nowadays.
My wife and I could not have been more pleased with the service, price, punctuality, and quality of the work. Gerald will be my go-to guy for all of my moving needs from here on.

Great company
The day they moved the furniture back to the master bedroom, they once again arrived on time. They were extremely careful while moving the furniture back and setting it up so as not to scratch the new wood floors. They were very patient while we installed felt pads on the bottom of the furniture that we could not access while it was stored in the other room.
Gerald and his crew were extremely profession, pleasant and courteous. It was evident to us that they have a strong work ethic with a focus on customer satisfaction. We will definitely use Soft Touch Moving Service again, should the need arise, and we highly recommend them to others.
GREAT JOB SOFT TOUCH. I thank you for all you did in caring for our belongings. The only sad thing is I would have to move again to use your services again. But if we ever did you would be the only call I would need to make.
