Ceramic Tile Service
We got the contact info for this company from the Floor and Decor store in West Houston (http://stores.flooranddecoroutlets.com/tx/houston/westoaks/whocandoit/). Never again ... I am writing this review in order for others not to make the same mistake. I wish somebody had written something like this before we hired them.
The main salesman Rene talked good game when giving the estimate, but when it came time to lay tiles, the skills of their crew were very subpar. The people on the job kept changing, the main tile guy had zero concern for any quality. He also destroyed any leftover tile pieces at the end of each day, the guy wasted boxes of large tile leftovers which could have been used the next day.
Rene was mostly concerned with wrapping up ASAP. We did not see uneven tile joints (where 4 corners meet) without the grout, they did not care to check it themselves. After the grout was installed, the crew became hostile when we started pointing out places where tile joints were not flat. In their view we were supposed to check it ourselves before it was grouted, and know how that would look like grouted. That's some professionalism! Rene kept making excuses for low quality, either the walls were not straight, or the floor, or the tiles, or something else. Always something else. Also, the shower drain they've installed is not sloping the right way over the entire area, there are low spots by the walls that have issues draining quickly.
Rene installed floor tile in the smaller bathroom himself, and even then managed to make the entire floor not fully level. We bought cement boards for the subfloor, so how did he manage to screw this one too and make it unlevel?
After this whole debacle, we had to hire another guy who cut out the poorly installed tiles, and redid them for another $1000. Still, in places it would have been too much effort to fix the low quality install, so we left things as is.
I hope this review will help some people to steer away from this company.
