Palm Pools

Palm Pools was hired to clean my pool weekly. At first, they were punctual, every Wednesday. Then, it was one day during the week. He would show up to collect the check on the 1st no matter what day it was and usually at 7:00am. Don't get me wrong, I always paid on time. Final straw was when this man claimed I hit his truck backing out of the driveway when construction work was being performed on the street. Easier to get repairs from me than the City of Houston.

He came and helped me once and then I couldn’t contact him several other times.  He came out two times.  It was meant to be once but he came back as he had to redo something.  He didn’t charge for the second visit.  He did the initial cleaning of the pool after we moved into this new house.  I chose him because of Angie's List and the good reviews.  I was thinking of hiring for a monthly contract.  But he didn’t return my calls though I tried to call him back to get him to come out a couple of times.  So I went with someone else.  He did a good job with the cleaning.

It worked very well and in fact I have several properties that I mange and they're helping me with so did a great job. They're doing a weekly service. They just have exceptional customer service and the fact that they have very good prices and they just give very personal type service. He's just really hands-on, He has a staff that works with him but he takes an initiative to see everything what's going on, so I really appreciate that.

Our pool had turned into a stagnant pond and no amount of chemical would seem to bring it back. I contacted Palm Pools to ask them for a quoute to drain our pool. Troy, the owner, said he would come out the next morning and take a look. We agreed to meet at 8:00am. At 9:00pm I realized I had a 9:00am meeting so I sent him a text to see if we could meet at 7:30am instead. He responded quickly with "No problem!" At 7:15 the next morning he was ringing the doorbell. Troy looked at the pool and gave me the evaluation I expected, that the pool needed to be drained, cleaned, refilled, and rebalanced. I explained to him that I am a DIY'er and that all I needed was the pool drained by an insured contractor. Previous discussion with the folks at the pool store lead me to believe that the full service from a pool service contractor would cost approximately $700. I saw an opportunity to save a few buck and didn't mind doing the work myself. Troy then told me that he would do the whole job for $400. I was shocked and elated. I asked how soon he could do it. His response was priceless - he smiled and said "It will be clean and looking brand new when you get home from work." Indeed, it was. The next day I call Troy to ask what needed to be done to rebalance the water in the newly cleaned and filled pool. He asked me what time I got off of work and if I was available to meet him at the pool store. He went out of his way to meet me late in the evening, take me through the pool store and show me all of the chemicals and quantities to add. In all our experience with Palm Pools was really quite exceptional. I have no reservations about recommending them to any homeowner need pool service.
