Very well. I called Obsta Plumbing at 7:30am on a Saturday because the broken toilet was flooding my house and I received a call back within 15 min. they referred me to a service to assist with the water removal and clean up. Obsta Plumbing then had the new toilet installed and the old one removed as soon as the water removal and clean up was done. I very much appreciated the quick response and willingness to work after hours to assist their customers.
Obsta Plumbing has come out recently to consult and give a quote for a water filter, sink and faucet install. They were timely, fair and informative. I do plan on hiring Obsta Plumbing for this job in the near future.
I would highly recommend Obsta Plumbing and will continue to use them for any plumbing concerns.
I felt that the Quote was anything but reasonable. They were charging me an obscene amount to fix a minor leak in the plastic manifold in the attic without the cost of material. The cost to fix two dripping faucets and slight drips in two commodes also seemed expensive.
A HONEST COMPANY WOULD GIVE FREE QUOTES AS THEY WOULD KNOW THAT THEIR QUOTE IS REASONABLE AND HENCE, WOULD BE SELECTED. ONLY A DISHONEST COMPANY WILL TRY TO MAKE MONEY OUT OF QUOTES.
I immediately called another highly rated plumber on this site. This company confirmed what Obsta had said. The fixing of the manifold was not easy as all pipes had to be removed and then put in again. Then they proceeded to give me a quote that was only 25% of Obsta's quote - not including material. The personnel fixed one of the leaky commodes by just cleaning the flapper with his hand. Gave a quote of 50% of Obsta's quote to fix the other leaky commode and leaky faucets!!! The person sincerely and honestly suggested that I fix the commode because it is easy to do!!! (I was aware of that as I fixed leaky commodes before with $25 material from home depot)!!!
LEARNT AN EXPENSIVE LESSON FROM INVITING OBSTA. WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN.
"I understand that we will not please everyone. What you are not including is that when we charge $115.00 for the service call to come out an evaluate your plumbing need(s) and/or do the work such amount is credited back to you at the job completion (time of billing). When a customer calls for work and wants to know a price we explain that we do flat rate pricing. If they do not like our pricing the minimum they will be out of pocket is the $115.00 for the service call. If they do elect to do the work it is the flat rate price quoted. If they needed us to provide a quote for a larger project or something that needed to be ordered we charge a service fee of $115.00 that is credited back when the work is completed. So if you had used us on the $2,000.00 quoted you would have received a final bill of $1,885.00. That would have made us within 10%-15% of whom ever you did hire which is a competitive rate for the plumbing industry."
I have used Obsta several times. Two times the owner made the service call. Another a service tech made the call. Two of the service calls were for pipes with pin hole leaks. We reviewed several options and I selected the option that best met the need. Once
replacing a whole section of pipe and other making a spot repair. Another call was to install a replacement tub. I purchased the tub, Obsta picked it up and install it and hauled the old one off. On each call, the cost charged was 65% to 75% of that quoted by other plumbers in the area. On the repair that involved replacing the section of pipe, a secondary leak developed at a joint that was loosen by the initial repair. Obsta came out and replaced the joint at no cost. On the second pipe repair, Obsta came out within 2 hours of the initial call, which was after 5 pm. They determined the repair required and estimated the time needed to be more than could be accomplish that day. They put a temporary patch on the pipe so water could be turn on for the night and came back out the next day. No additional charge was made for the temporary patch.They worked well together. They worked a long day at my house, and, I know
they must have been very tired, but they left my home clean and tidy. I would
absolutely call on them again for my plumbing needs, and I certainly recommend
them.
