Showed up, saw the breaker box next to the unit, immediately said it is for an electrician before he even walked up next to the unit. I explained the situation to him and he begrudgingly started to do his job. Tested the compressor, capacitor and fan, took pictures, called the main office asked them what to do. Then said, that they said over the phone that it is an electrical issue. So I opened a request for an electrician to come out and diagnose the actual issue. In his words, "Suspect the contact was already beginning to fail and the direct short caused by the compressor formally and fully burned it out. Installed new same model disconnects and confirmed sufficient 240 V. However, they are still a short within the compressor that the AC company needs to address because it’s still tripping the 60 amp breaker in the garage service panel". Total BS, they just have to say something is this or that and bounce, this is there business model when comes to warranty work. The "company" is out of there truck, or home I guess but if you look them up you will see a pattern for this company, especially warranty work. 0 communication, 0 work order, 0 invoice 0 professionalism. 0 customer service, 0 scruples Using home warranty, TRASH, TRASH, TRASH. Techs have zero knowledge and if they do it is very limited, they have to call back to ask questions, sorry but if you have to ask someone else, you don't know what your doing. There business model is service calls, little effort or work as possible so they can make it to the next service call. $75 a call X 10 or more visits a day, that's $750 a day x 5 which is 7,500 a week x 50 weeks (holidays) $375k a year by just doing service calls. It's business out of a truck and it's ran that way. If you like wasting money give them a call, otherwise STAY CLEAR BY ANY MEANS.
Response from MrGoodguy Air Conditioning & Heating

"We are very sorry you feel the diagnosis was incorrect. Our visit to your home was requested by your home warranty provider. As a contracting partner all of our findings are reported back to the requesting party. We solely offer nothing more then diagnosis and labor. NEVER do we offer sales tactics nor treat any customers home failures as an advantage to gain profits. MrGoodguy A/C was born from the mind set of an individual running away from companies who reap from our neighbors needs. We're your local mom and pop shop. Far from the advertising companies we see on social media and televised advertisements. As for your expressed calculations. Please check your math as well as your lack to state the service fee paid was to your warranty provider and not us. Our mission has always been to offer Solutions vs Sales. Honesty vs Profits. We're your neighbor not your corporate company."

Our home air conditioner was going out intermittantly. I called our home warranty company, OneGuard Home Warranty, to submit a service request. I did not receive a call from Mr. Goodguy until the next day and then they were not able to schedule service until the day after that. The technician determined the problem was electical and suggested I call an electrician. Within 12 hours of his visit it went out again. I called OneGuard again to request a follow up service call by Mr. Goodguy. I did not receive a call from Mr. Goodguy to schedule another service call, so I called them several times during the day, and left several messages, but they never returned my call. I finally got through to someone late in the day July 1 and they were able to schedule a service the next day, July 2. I live in Houston, where it is very hot and humid in the summer months. We could not even stay in our house while the air conditioner was not working, and if no one could come out July 2 it would be July 5 at the earliest we could get service due to the holiday. When the technican returned July 2 he again determined the problem was electrical, but this time he fixed it by replacing a capcitor in the air conditioner.

He arrived on time, and within probably 15 minutes had the problem diagnosed.  He had the part in his vehicle, and replaced it immediately.  It was performed under warranty so I'm not positive of the cost, but I think it would be approx 200.
He turned on the system and waited to verify everything was cooling properly.

Really frustrated with both One Guard warranty as well as with HVAC service provider, as the message "ladder needed to complete job" doesn't seem to register. We have to schedule several people to be available at home for meeting contractor and both times have resulted in hours wasted, all because of poor communication.

This provider is a part of a home warranty group and when my AC went out
I called the warranty company who in turned sent an order to Mr. Goodguy. Mr. Goodguy
were supposed to call and schedule an appointment within 4 hours. After
the 4 hours, I tried to call and could only reach a recording. I left a
message and did not get a returned call. I did call the warranty company
and they dispatched another AC company and they call right away and set
an appointment for the following afternoon, and completed the work. THREE days later I got a call from Mr. Goodguy to set an appointment and when I told him the work had been done days before, he gets rude.
Will not consider using in the future and will not recommend. Sorry but I think he has way too much on his plate to provide good service.
Response from MrGoodguy Air Conditioning & Heating

Very well. They could cost me a lot of troubles to sell me something I do not need. Told me all components working well. Change my filters. Thanks for all your good work.

Confirmed everything was in working order and had good pressure, could have upsold me or tried shenanagans but didn't. Super A+++ for these guys. They said the system was in good shape and I shouldn't have any issues.
Looks like its time for windows and attic insulation as the summer heats up ... ah the joys of an old house.

We are in the midst of unseasonably warm weather and my A/C would not work. I phoned my home warranty company and they sent out Albert from Mr. Goodguy.
Albert asked me questions about what was not working and then went outside to look at the compressor. He found that likely the mowing service that was here recently cut the wire causing the compressor not to function. He repaired the wiring and connected it so that it would not be camouflaged in the grass behind the compressor. He checked the thermostat, the air returns, and went into the attic to check the system's function. He also checked to make sure that the heater was functioning.
While he was specifically called out to get the A/C working, he went above and beyond to make sure that all aspects of my system were functioning completely. He also offered to return immediately if there were any problems.
