The move went very smoothly. The two movers were professional, courteous, and helpful. When it came to placing and setting up the furniture, these men went the extra mile. My wife was especially pleased with the movers' efforts to protect the furniture from damage. We would definitely hire Katy Movers again.

Katy Movers did a fantastic job. They treated our stuff like it was museum quality. I was off on my estimate I gave them, so they needed two trips. They sent three guys and they moved 3 12x10 storage containers from a storage facility to my new home. They worked very hard and the price was extremely reasonable compared to other moving services. Given the professional work they did, they were WAY better than some of these "2+ guy and a truck" movers. I moved into a two story and they placed everything where my wife directed. No dents, dings, scratches, scuffs. They laid out box and carpet runners and took care with our belongings and our house. I highly recommend them if you're moving in the Houston or Katy area!

Very well. The men came and did a great job wrapping and packing my furniture and loading everything and then doing the same thing at the new place. The one thing I would like to see improved is for them to lay down a barrier to my floors before trucking hand carts in and out of the homes. Other wise VERY happy!!

The crew showed up early, My house was scheduled for final walk through two days later so I had just finished having the interior of the home repainted. Upon arrival I explained to the team about the pending close on the home and to please be careful. When moving furniture down the stairs and out of the front door they damaged the walls in multiple separate places including the overhead arch ways at the bottom of the stairs. There was additional wall damage in a room that had wide walk through areas. The front door frame was gouged in two separate places as well once they finished. I had to return to the home after the move with putty and paint to make the repairs to both the walls and door frame due to the depth of some of the gashes. Only one of the crew of three seemed to understand the situation and demonstrate a bit of remorse at the damage they caused. Additionally, since the move we have been unable to locate a rug that was moved as well as we discovered the damage to the picture frame and some of the furniture. This is disappointing as this was my third and final time to use this company for my moves.

They arrived on time or early every time we hired them for a move. The movers made sure everything was secure and that door frames were padded so as to not be marked or damaged. You do need to make sure and have a very accurate inventory of items to be moved. Very prompt on returning calls and setting up dates and times for the moves.

Great service and communication. Called 20 minutes before arrival and arrived right on time. Moved all my belongings form a 10x20 storage unit to my home in 3 hours. Helped move furniture from my upstairs to my ground floor and reposition heavy furniture. Hard workers with no breaks. Great experience!

I have used this company once before six years ago and once again they provided excellent, professional service. The packers took care of most everything in the house, wrapped items with care, worked quickly and efficiently. The movers did an awesome job with moving out of my two story house; they were mindful of fragile items, showed me damaged furniture before moving and worked their tails off. It was a very long day and in some cases they went above and beyond to make me happy. The ladies came back to unpack much of the house because I had hurt my back. And, fast and efficient. The whole experience when very smoothly. Thanks to Aurora, Tina, Gracella, Cece, Brandon, Alex, Juan, Landon, Pierre and Alexander!

Storage to Storage move Staff unaware of insurance options but provided good pricing options. Aurora, owner clarified insurance coverage beyond the state approved .60/lb. Booked a fixed price move. Christine answered my inquiries before move date & Aurora called to confirm crew arrival time. Jose, Montel & Obie arrived on time & no one introduced themselves as the crew chief, however the way Jose was taking charge I anticipated he was the leader. Discussed documentation, addl insurance & I presented a 10% Angies List coupon to Jose, which he told me to provide at job completion. The crew seemed professional & began reviewing the storage units. I told them my main concerns were fragile/breakable items in boxes, labeled accordingly, so careful review & placement was necessary & three large furniture items that needed to be loaded first, so could be the last pieces placed in storage. Provided the guys bottled water & when asked about lunch said "we will get something later” I was happy to pay for their lunch & get as needed. The guys knew I booked this move on 14k lbs, but they underestimated the number of items each unit contained. Jose commented they would be done by 2-3 pm but knew it would be more like 6-7 pm.., a total of 8-10 hours, why I booked a fixed price move. Had my own moving blankets so did not need to keep any of theirs. Jose indicated the truck should have 70 blankets & he would perform a final count at job end. He said no paper pads were on the truck, but saw some later? The guys seemed to take good care of my goods but Montel was less careful & had an attitude They did scoot furniture instead of picking up to move across a floor. Load into the 1st new storage unit went well, Obie is an excellent stacker but he did bang on boxes to get them to fit in a space & I consistently reminded him of the "fragile" labels.. We left a little room in front of the first unit, in the event all did not fit in the second unit. Was encouraged when load to second storage unit started as it was still light outside & were unloading the truck containing fewer items.. However I noticed the guys were getting tired, working a bit slower & not taking care of my goods, being sloppy. Began to get dark outside so I asked if we should stop and start again the next day. To them not an option & they would complete project tonight regardless of time.. Unfortunately from this point, this move went downhill fast & did not end well. The second storage unit did not get loaded well & there was not enough room for the three pieces of furniture that required to be in front. Obie argued with me on what pieces those were. Did he think I did not know my own furniture? They grew increasingly sloppy with unloading & placing unnecessary items on furniture. Obviously they didn't care about scratches or dents & items sat outside instead of bringing them in the halls of the facility. This would have assisted the stacker in knowing what was left to place in unit. Once I made comments about the efficiency of loading the second unit & careless handling of my goods.. Jose apologized & said they would be more careful, however Obie began to YELL at me, became very irate & got louder and more abusive. He ignored my suggestions on placing items in storage & moving some items to the first unit. Very unprofessional... At that point Obie identified himself as the "crew chief" & indicated he was calling Aurora, company owner. Could not believe what was happening as the move went ok until now... however I was the customer & believe my concerns should have been heard & addressed. He argued about moving blankets & wanted me to purchase some of theirs, I declined & said we could use cushions to place in between some of the furniture. At this point, with him yelling at me & complaining to the owner, I just wanted to finish, but he continued to waste everyone's time & within minutes walked off the job! The other two guys stopped working & did not know what to do.. I kept insisting they continue to move the remaining items in & place them as best as possible. I spoke with Aurora on the phone, she apologized for Obie's behavior & was concerned about how he was acting, no matter the circumstances. She indicated she was coming to the storage unit to address the issue. At this point most of the items were off the second truck but not everything. When Aurora arrived she agreed the second unit was not stacked or loaded efficiently & wanted to rearrange it. It was 8:30 pm & I would not allow her to move any items that had been placed into storage.. I told her, Jose & Montel(Obie was nowhere to be found..) that I wanted the remaining pieces loaded in either unit & be done,so I could pay her & leave. She started to get angry at me for not letting her redo the unit arrangement & said they were leaving with the remaining items that had been loaded off the truck & would be back to finish tomorrow. I insisted they finish as coming back was no longer an option for me & were too close to finishing, maybe 10 pieces to load & could be placed in either storage unit. Then Aurora says "write me a check for the total amount & we will load the remaining items into storage” She indicated I could not be trusted & afraid if they finished I would not pay them? NEVER gave her any indication of not paying but did say payment was contingent on job completion & all goods were in storage.. Isn't that how it works? She kept insisting I write her a check prior to them finishing and didn’t care we were wasting time. Her so called "crew chief" walked off the job & my household goods were still in the hall, outside & on the truck.. I kept insisting the remaining two guys could finish putting the few items into the storage units, we would be done & payment made.. She ignored my requests, so who was untrustworthy? In a twisted turn, she told the guys to load the remaining items back on the truck & they were leaving.. She told me when I brought her check to the office they would come back & load the remaining items into storage.. UNBELIEVABLE!!!.. we could have been finished over an hour ago & payment made, but she continued to insist I pay her prior to job completion? Now who was untrustworthy? I called 911 as they exited facility as police were needed. For no valid reason, owner was going to hold my items hostage until I paid her, when job was incomplete.. Katy police arrived at the storage & based on information provided they indicated the moving trucks had been stopped by an officer & they refused to return with my items until I paid them! I explained to the officer at the storage facility with me that I NEVER gave them any indication I would not pay & once all items were in storage, payment made per contract. The moving trucks returned escorted by police, they finally unloaded my remaining items as I originally instructed & I wrote a check since the job was complete. Upon inspection, they left one of my items & blankets on the truck which were retrieved by the police. Aurora did not return with the trucks, she left her crew to deal with the police & me.. When I presented my Angie's List coupon, she initially declined to accept for no reason, but finally decided to apply to final payment. A contract existed & as long as they completed the work, they would be paid! However, I was called a liar, could not state my opinion on how my goods were handled or loaded into storage & my items were essentially stolen by Katy Movers & held hostage until the police intervened.. This experience was beyond belief the guys & owner's attitude & professionalism changed dramatically when I asked them to be more careful with my goods & did not allow them to rearrange the storage unit at such a late hour, that they packed so inefficiently! I wish you good luck if you decide to hire Katy Movers, but be warned their employees do not know policies, you can’t be concerned about how they handle yo
Response from Katy Movers

"To begin I myself spoke to Mrs. [Member Name Removed] 1st and hours were spent quoting and informing Mrs. [Member Name Removed] of our coverage options. My name is Mary Beth I am the office manager. You will see that she has not mentioned me at all though I alone spent over an hour with her upon her first call. We went above and beyond to answer every hypothetical outcome. Our staff are all very knowledgeable about what coverage we offer. We are a family owned business and there are only 3 of us in the office. Upon delivery Mrs. [Member Name Removed] was rearranging the storage unit and in the way of the trained professionals who were trying to stack and load the unit in a safe and efficient way. Our owner came onsite with reports from the movers of the hostile manner of which Mrs. [Member Name Removed] was treating them. Our owner suggested that tensions were high and maybe we should return later to complete the job. Our owner was met with more hostilities. At which time Mrs. [Member Name Removed] specifically said " I am not paying you". Our owners response was to stop the movers and tell them to lock up her goods at our facility and we would return once Mrs. [Member Name Removed] was calmer. The men left and were stopped by the police. The men returned on the stipulation that the police oversaw the remainder of the move. It is unfortunate that the police had to force Mrs. [Member Name Removed] to write a check for payment as well spend their valuable time ensuring she did not continue her harassment of the men just attempting to do their jobs."

They were suppose to arrive between 3 & 5 pm. Arrived at 4:45 pm. They packed and wrapped the mattresses and most furnishings. Upon move in, the couch had 2 snags despite being wrapped, kitchen table had huge gouge in the leg. Lost or broke parts of carpet shampooer.

Everything was great from start to finish. The movers were very polite and went out of their way to do everything carefully and professionally. Before loading our furniture at our home, they stopped at my mother's house to bubble wrap, crate, and load a large (4'x6') antique mirror. At our house, they worked quickly and really had the system down on loading the truck. It didn't take long and we were on our way. Upon arriving in Galveston, they were sure to ask questions about where boxes or furniture should go. They did a wonderful job and I would recommend them to everyone!

The initial move went fairly well, and the crew was professional. However, the crew REALLY needed a fourth person due to the weight of the piano. When we made the appointment, we specified that the piano would need to be tilted on its side as it could not be rolled due to a space issue. My assumption was that enough people would be sent to safely handle a piano of this size. The process was nerve wracking as the insurance provided by the company covers very little in case the piano is dropped. A different crew did the return trip to the music room, and this part did not go well. Two of the crew members were professional and seemed to take the task seriously. The driver/crew head was unprofessional. He didn't seem to know what he was doing. Fortunately, one of the other crew members knew what needed to be done. Even then we, the homeowners, had the most to lose as now we had new hardwood floors that the heavy piano had to be rolled across, tilted upright, and set down onto. We had to instruct them to cover the floors with thick padding as our installers had told us the dolly could likely damage the floor because of the weight of the piano. Then as the crew was struggling to upright the piano, it slid and bumped an antique table that was several feet away. They nearly dropped the piano. The whole process was really nerve-wracking. For what we paid $250 for each move, a total of $500, we would have expected to have enough people to do the job. Ultimately it all worked out, but if the piano had been dropped, we would have been out thousands of dollars.

Aurora was super easy to work with and was very accommodating with the initial set up and quote. Katy Movers were prompt, professional and courteous not to mention hard workers. The gentlemen that moved our things showed up at 8:30 am, loaded 2 trucks, drove 60+ miles, carefully unloaded at our new home and left around 8:00 or 8:30pm.
