I thought that I would be paying about the price for their duct cleaning "special," which was $199 but ended up with a bill of $719.80. They added on extra charges for cleaning the return air duct, main unit, coil wash, and especially the fog machine, which took 5 minutes and ran $139. When I objected to this item initially, Nick told me that it was very important, I suspect because it generated the most profit. I admittedly authorized the work so that blame is on me. The ducts had never been cleaned in 49 years, which is why I went ahead with the whole package. The technicians worked hard and fast but allowed spray paint to fall on the the kitchen appliances. I only wish to warn future customers not to expect to get away for $199.

"Dear Mr [Member Name Removed], The price of $199 is only for the air ducts to be deep cleaned with disinfection. This price does not include cleaning the coil or main unit. Seeing as how your ducts hadn’t been cleaned in 49 years, yes We recommended the additional treatment.. However you were under no obligation to accept. We were there giving you a free estimate, if you felt the price was too high you could have said no thank you and gotten a second quote from a different company. The job wasn’t started until We gave you a final price which you agreed to. The price for everything before taxes was 665. We apologize that you had a bad experience with our company. Zeno was excellent in every way. Very nice guy, and explained the entire process thoroughly. And with before and after photos. Came out on a Saturday to give us a quote, and as it was reasonable, did the work on the spot. He cleaned the dryer vent from the laundry room to where it exited the roof, removed all the old sealant tape in the attic, replaced with new, and caulked the roof vent. He completely cleaned up all the dryer lint. He could not have been better. As the company also does HVAC duct cleaning, I was wondering how hard he might push to sell a job for that. He did mention it before he left, but NO pressure ate all. We did ask for a quote, and he provided one, but no pushing in any way - just a nice, helpful guy. The fastest way to not get a job from me is to be the slightest bit aggressive, and he handled it perfectly. The experience with Zeno was nothing but pleasant.

The cleaning was done well. However the price doubled because they said cleaning from both sides of the vent was necessary. I think if you are charging a price to clean a dryer vent you should clean the entire vent for that price.
