GEORGE E SUNDAY CARPENTER

The following description is the experience of my next-door neighbor who contacted me and wanted me to find a handyman for her to use off of Angie's list. She knew I was a member of Angie's list and knew I had had wonderful experiences from using Angie's list. Like I mentioned earlier the following description was given to me and was written by her for me to share here: In early January, 2015, we found that George Sunday was recommended on Angie?s List so we contacted him about putting together a 10 x 8 steel shed in our back yard. We had already purchased the kit from Home Depot and had a foundation made ? we just wanted him to put it together. Upon speaking with George, he assured us that he had assembled several sheds over the years and it would take 1 ? 1 ? days to complete. We agreed to pay George at an hourly rate for him and an assistant. In all, it took George and his assistant 4 days to ?complete? the shed and it looks horrendous. Instead of following the directions provided, they just screwed holes through the metal and left the directed holes unfilled. They bent several of the pieces of metal on the exterior. The shed now leaks whenever it rains and does not serve its intended purpose. There is also a random piece of duct tape on a back seam that we are afraid to remove because we don?t want to make it worse! He did not make the building plumb so the doors do not close all the way. He also did not even attach it to the foundation. When George came to us to request payment we walked through his work (on video) and discussed the problems. We pointed out how he had put the door handles on backwards so you cannot even try to put a padlock on it ? to which he responded ?I did it right?. When we discussed the sunlight we could see coming in through the roof he simply said ?I?ve been doing this for 50 years??. Clearly, George got in over his head on this project. Since then, we have had 3 other contractors look over the work and all 3 have given their professional opinion that the building is beyond repair and recommended tearing it down and starting over. We would never recommend George Sunday for any handy-man work in the future.

I thought he was fine but a little too expensive. The quality of work was not outstanding but got the job done.

George is prompt and reasonable. His finished is always very good. I highly recommend him and will use his services in the future.
