Donald Electric

First and foremost, Donald charged us $125 for no actual work. Don't get me wrong, I'm willing to reimburse for gas and a minimal amount for your time, but not $125 for no work. He came out (later than he said) and essentially started fear-mongering right away about pulling city permits for the corrosion on the conduit, (an issue several other electricians and actual electrical engineers have told us would not be a big deal and could easily be avoided). On top of that, he stated he couldn't even pull the permits because he wasn't permitted or licensed (correct wording?) to pull permits in the city of Houston! I suppose because he doesn't work in this area. WHY wouldn't he have mentioned that on the phone or in our discussions leading up to the appointment? No-instead he gives a number of 'buddy' of his who could do it. And just to add a cherry on top, he then states verbatim, "he's a good Christian." UGH! How distasteful. Not only are you necessarily inserting religion into business with customers with which you don't know their beliefs, but you insinuate being 'Christian' makes him a better electrician. Literally, what does that have to do with anything? I'd rather have an atheist electrician, if he/she does a good job and for a fair price. Who cares about their religion. What if he was Muslim or Jewish? Would he be sub-par? He may not have meant it that way, but that IS what it reads as to your customers with brains. Donald is an ironic, sad representation of a Christian. The irony is that apparently being a Christian is important to him, yet his business practices leave something to be desired in that respect. And as if you need another reason to not go with him, he did not respond to texts in a timely manner. Many times, I had to ask him the same question multiple times to get him to answer it. And he would just ignore my communication until I outright asked him if he was understanding what I was asking. We ended up going with Thor Electric, who not only did not charge us to come out and take a look, but he could do the work we were asking for an affordable price. And he responded very quickly to texts, phone calls, and emails. Bottom line, we WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Robert asked all of the important questions pertaining to the electrical problem prior to his investigation. He patiently checked all of the receptacles and continued his pursuit until locating the dead wire.  The GFI was replaced and receptacles installed neatly. Before leaving, he looked over our breaker panel to make sure everything was in working order (for which he did not charge).  This is a family-owned business with his wife, Lisa, working as scheduler/administrator.  Both Robert and Lisa are friendly and knowledgable and they work diligently to meet the needs of their clients.  Should we ever require future electrical repair services, Donald Electric is the business we will call.

Robert was professional, courteous and I would recommend his services to anyone. I will certainly use Donald Electric again when the need arises.  Regards, Keith Boedecker

Part of a circut was out in my house. I was afraid there was a fire hazard. He came out on a Sunday because he was in town already with his family. He was very informative and answered my questions. He helped me identify the problem as well as some other problems with the wiring of my house. He also gave me some pointers for wiring my garage. Because of his help I was able to identify and fix the problems myself which save me about $1000.00 dollars. It turned out to be a simple fix but another electrician may not have been so honest with me. He is usually booked out for a couple of weeks at a time but that just means people think he is good.

Came promptly on a rush call, worked professionally.

A pleasant person to have working in and out the house. Professional work. Very tidy.

He was great. His work was excellent and he was prompt.
