When I spoke on the phone Mario says its going to cost $89 to show up and on arrival he would tell me after looking at the lock how much it costs. Mario came in a regular car and did not bring any of the tools needed to open or to rekey. On arrival he tells me that the lock is a special one and he needs to drill it which makes the lock not usable and costs more to open. This was a cheap lock I got replaced less than 6 months ago bought from Home Depot. If I refuse the service, I still need to pay the $89, which means I had to go with the service no matter the cost is high. I would not recommend his services.

"Well we are sorry this customer didn't like the vehicle we were driving at the moment! We had all the tools necessary to do the job! We were in a transition period because we just upgraded our van to a 2016 Ford Transit fully loaded and stocked !!! So we rode in an unmarked car for two days unfortunately this customer got to see that ! We helped this customer out although we were having a rough day because our brand new van was getting outfitted! As far as the price goes we are one of the more affordable companies out there, we regularly charge a little more but we gave this customer a very fair, affordable price!! Sorry you felt that way put you cannot pick open a Kwikset smart-key lock! Have a nice day !"

I needed an interior door unlocked one evening when no key could be located. I placed an after hours call to Compass and Mario was very courteous. He arrived within 20 minutes of my call and removed the lock at my request. Mario worked quickly and professionally. I will certainly use this company again should the need arise.

A worker from Katy Tile Company (see my review on this company) who was demolishing ceramic floor tile so that wood floor could be installed became emotionally unstable and I felt threatened in my own home. As he had left the job site during the day, there was opportunity for him to make a duplicate of the key I left for entrance to the job site. So I called Compass Safe and Lock and explained the episode. Compass Safe agreed that in order for me to feel safe again in my own home, I should re-key. (Constable on neighborhood watch patrol agreed with this so I was glad Compass Safe & Lock came out as quickly as they did.) He came out right away and re-keyed everything, replaced my deadbolts with stronger deadbolts. He even strengthened the hardware/plates for no charge. An upright guy--a stellar company. Incredibly professional.

We returned home from a trip 9pm on a Friday night and found ourselves locked out. I called Mario at Compass and they were at our house in less than 20 minutes - very much appreciated since we had 2 young kids that just wanted to get home. Mario removed our old lock and replace it with a new one that matched perfect and added double sided deadbolts to our exterior doors which helped secure and will help to child-proof our home.

I dropped my house key in the front yard and was unable to find it after searching for a couple of hours. Mario was here within 15 minutes of the phone call. He was able to get my daughter and I back in our house quickly, even with a deadbolt that is very difficult to pick. I would highly recommend Mario and Compass Safe & Lock for emergency unlock services.

Last week I lost my car keys to my '87 F-150. Mario arrived promptly and cut a key for both of the doors and the ignition. The price was a bit high, as I didn't take much time to shop around. Mario, however, applied a discount to my bill which came to a grand total of $167.78 for two sets of keys.

He was on time but the locks where pricey and after he installed the deadbolt he failed to clean up at all. One of the locks installed just six months ago isalready loose.

"Were sorry for any inconvenience but if you had an issue with your lock we would of had gladly went back to correct the problem! But we cannot warranty a lock six months after the initial service,.aparently you only live three blocks down from our dispatch center had you contact us promptly we would could of taken action to make you happy!"

I called Angie's List for some recommendations. Houston Safe and Lock was one of those recommendations who I had actually used before. After calling a Houston Safe and Lock, they recommended Mario because they were totally booked for the day.
Mario called back within minutes of my call and said he could be at my house within 45 minutes. His quote was competitive (initially $89.50 plus tax. At first I thought I would only pay the basic fee for opening my door but because I had a special lock, it took a little more time to open. I did have to get a replacement lock. He had my finish in stock which worked out well.
I liked his work so much that I plan to use him again for another project. He was quick, professional and explained everything that he was doing.I would highly recommend him and thank Houston Safe and Lock for the recommendation!
