I recently hired BuildTechz Construction for a home renovation, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the results! The company built a replacement carport that had serious craftsmanship issues from the beginning. The boards were split, and the support arms are not sturdy enough to support the structure. The carport was built with three poles when the original structure had four. The poles for support were placed on top of the concrete and not buried in the ground and the support poles were not 6 x 6. The structure was anchored to the house using three screws. There are gaps between the support beans and the end structure. Their idea of a fix was to caulk the gaps instead of using brackets or joists. The structure is not sound. I had a friend from W.S. Bellows look at the pictures and concurred that the structure was not sound and would blow down in a storm. In addition, I had other pros look at the job. The carport leaks near the house and after three attempts to correct the structure, I told them that I would get someone else to straighten-out their work. Very unprofessional results!
