Brooks Construction Services of Texas

We signed a contract with BROOKS, to replace all the flooring on the 1st floor (wood floors), dry wall repair/replace, kitchen cabinets replacment, painting, and master bedroom closet repair/replacement;  I paid him the first 1/3 of the contract cost.
Brooks, started with replacing the floors.  The job was not done in a timely manner.  It took them over 2 weeks to put all the floors;  The floors were not grouted after, baseboards not replaced;  The job on the floors were poorly done.  I paid him the second 1/3 of the total cost of the contract to cover the cost of the kitchen.
His company then, ripped out our kitchen.  His company then stopped returning our calls and failed to return our emails.  We tried to reach him for months.  The job he completed was aweful;  Also, he left us with a TORN UP KITCHEN. 
After months of  unreturned  calls,  we pursued him in court.  We  won our case against Brooks Constructions Services of Texas.  He hasn't paid the court case yet. 
Brooks Construction Services is unrealiable and unworthy.  Please do not use this company.

not reseFirst of all I had waned the contractor that I was in a histrorical district and if he did not follow the city mandates strictly we would be cited and have to go to court. We signed the contract in July and I was already given a court date for August 21, 2014.  I was cited again and my court date in November 21. He was cited for not having the permits visible or the right permits for the work being done. The electrical work had to be cited several times because the city would come to inspect and no one was there working on our home. After my husband emailed the city and the contractor and the electric company. Mr. Brooks finally took himself down there to get this squared away.  Then he sent a new estimate to our insurance company for more than our house is worth and the insurance company sent us a letter stating that basically he has done this without their approval and if they can non not substantiate why they did what they did they would not pay for it . That was October 2, 2014 and I sent  Mr. Brooks a copy of the letter and  my husband followed up with a call telling him he need to respond to the insurance company and get this information they requested of him. He responded that he would respond to the insurance company that following week.  My Husband was ready  to fire him on October 21, 2014, one day after our second completion date.  He went on Angie's list to do a review and he later took the review down because Mr. Brooks was trying to resolve our problems and gave us the new completion date of 11/7/2014.  No work was done after October 28 2014.  My husband would call each day as what going on and would no receive any responses. They put the walls back up 3 weeks ago and have not done a thing since. No plumbing work ,no ac heating , flooring or cabinet work done .  Our Mortgage company,  the insurance company and we ourselves have asked the contractor for repair status update and  a completion date since October 17, 2014 and he still avoids giving a date and of course his patterned answer is he'll get back to us. I finally gave him a 3 day warning that we were terminating our contract with him if he did get this resolved by Monday. He did not even respond until I sent him a text  message stating how shabby he was treating us and how he has not taken care of anything as he said he would. His response is that he will respond to the insurance company. His service is horrible he does not communicate with the us other than to stall and we are done with them.

They handled the insurance company for me. I didn't know anything about insurance and he got back to me quickly. It was great. I didn't have any problems. I dealt with Jason and he did a good job. I had no complaints. I called him a couple of times at 7 or 8 at night and he answered. It was quality service. They deal with water only so they know how to handle it. He made me feel comfortable. My house was not in good shape and they got it back to better than it was before. The insurance paid so I didn't have to pay anything.

Made an appointment and David showed up.  Nice man, great ideas - nothing really bad to say.  I didn't use him because he got into a major car accident and was physically unable to continue working.  After a couple of voicemail msgs and an email his son called and told me what happened and apologized for not communicating.

Called to have a estimate done on damaged siding. He said he would call back on Thursday morning and never did.

Three days work by 2 men on interior and exterior paint. We are pleased with the work.

They did a great job. Had some problems with subcontractors, but brooks took care of it. Doors took a long time, but that was also out of their hands. One of the tiles was placed so the unfinished edge was facing upwards, but other than that the finish product is beautiful.

I highly recommend Brooks construction. The owner is easy to contact and returns calls quickly. Brooks adjusted around our highly busy schedule. We had a concern with the tile work and they were quick to come out and repair it. Very professional family-run business.

The service I received from Brooks construction was excellent.  Customer service was constant and once work was complete came back for a followup result and to see if repairs was complete and to my satisfaction.  I would recommend Brooks to family and friends anytime.Thanks for what you do.

It went excellent. I can't think of anything bad. All of David's workers were very professional and nice. The job was finished much faster than I expected and the quality of work was A+. I intend on using them for all of my construction needs.
