The project ended poorly through litigation and mediation. The builder used multiple DBA's, which makes it very difficult to track his previous background. DBA's were under: West Wood Homes, Westwood Homes, West-Wood Homes, Westwood Homes North, WWHN, William Christopher Custom Homes, and William Orlando. Please use caution if deciding to use any of these names for building or remodeling.
Description of Work: His company was hired to build our new home. We hired a code inspector and had expert witnesses verify that the home was not in compliance with Texas State Code. The finished home failed all inspections. Electric, stucco, brick, roofing, plumbing, framing/structure support were all failed categories.

Response from Bill Orlando
Tried my best to satisfy this client and failed. Westwood Homes and William Christopher Custom Homes were corporations that I had managed with employees that were paid to oversee the building process. I personally did not oversee the project in whole, but did meet with them on numerous evenings and after hours to address every concern. When areas of concern were not able to be handled amicably, I had to employ counsel to try and rectify the situation. The attorney had to send letters stating that we would not complete the project due to non-payment and for breaches within our contract. After no responses, we had to file suit. We then agreed to go to mediation to settle our differences where an we agreement was reached that money was owed to our company. Also, in good faith, we agreed to attempt to finish the project. Unfortunately, after failed attempts to resolve every last issue, we agreed to disagree and stopped work on the project even though it would cost the company several thousands of dollars to do so. This was one of the most memorable projects I have ever been associated with. Lost a lot of sleep, but grew tremendously as a person. I truly, truly desired to satisfy them and was unable to do so. Looking back, I know there are things we should have done better along with things we should not have done. Acknowledging this, I truly wish the best for this person, their home, and their family. During my tenure with Westwood Homes (a production style home) and William Christopher Custom Homes (a customized product line), we built nearly 100 custom homes in the greater Houston area with very few complaints considering. We produced many happy homeowners and built some very beautiful homes that I am very proud of. Our goal was 100 % satisfaction and according to this complaint we fell short. To this day, I have not given up on this goal. I am continually growing as a person and a professional and will strive to be the best I can be.
