If you seek ambiguous communication, a lack of transparency, electrical work performed not to code, dishonesty and incompetence - hire Beekman. Our experience: 1. I acquired a cost estimate of 5 hours for some electrical work. I scheduled to be home for that amount of time so that the work could be performed. 2. When the Beekman electricians arrived, I inquired about whether permitting was required for the work (permitting insures that any work performed is inspected and to code, etc.) I was informed not once, but twice that a permit was not required (thank goodness for porch cameras that record audio). 3. Work was performed in less than 45 minutes. When I asked why my estimate noted 5 hours for the work - I was told “that’s the way we do it.” I then called Beekman’s accounting department and inquired about an adjustment for the actual time it took to perform the work. After a few minutes of “that’s the way we do it” the time was adjusted approximately 25%. 4. The next day - I happened to have a conversation with someone who works in the permits department. The conversation steered towards the work I had Beekman perform the previous day. And I was informed that a permit IS required for the type of electric work that was performed at my home the day prior and that Beekman would have known (Beekman has worked in this area before). I then contacted Tom Beekman directly. He acquiesced that they got caught, knew a permit was required and that he would handle the proper filing for same, etc. I even sent him a text with one example of the work that was performed, e.g., “hole” left in our panel where breakers used to be. Almost 2 weeks passed - and nothing. 5. A permit was finally filed - 12 days after the work had been completed. Beekman then attempted twice to get into my home to “fix” things prior to the inspection so that they would not get dinged (and fined/charged). One visit mandated my husband being home for work on one of those days. I have a video/audio recording of the Beekman electricians on our porch - after ringing the doorbell again and again - complaining about the amount of time it took for my husband to answer the door (he was on a work call) - it took less than 136 seconds. 6. In the interim, Tom Beekman unilaterally texted me to apologize for the work. He “looked over the entire situation” which he believed was handled “incorrectly”. And that he wanted to “refund the entire cost” for the work that was performed. I picked up the phone and called him. After apologizing again - he offered that he would have someone come by with a check post inspection. I agreed. 7. I relayed to the inspector that Beekman acquiesced that their work was faulty and that Tom Beekman profusely apologized. After 4 visits and several weeks - the issues that would have failed an inspection were fixed. 8. The electrical work performed (and subsequently fixed) by Beekman passed inspection. 9. A refund check signed by Tom Beekman was delivered to our home. Life went on. After a few weeks and after discussing it with my husband, we decided to deposit the Beekman refund check. Tom Beekman’s refund check bounced. Sent Tom Beekman a text re: same. No reply.

Excellent work! My old 125 amp breaker panel was replaced. I was kept informed of what would happen and when. After installation the circuits were well labeled on the panel Will call them again for further any electrical projects.

I was impressed with Mr. Beekman's honesty and knowledge. His pricing is more than fair. And I was equally impresseded with the professionalism and attention of Gilbert and Michael. They were quick, efficient and they explained what they were doing so that I could understand. Gilbert's 30 plus years of experience was very apparent as he tracked down the source of the short in the wiring. I think Beekman is the only electrician I will ever need.

Our electrician was able to come out same day, he was super friendly, got the work done in a timely manner. The fans look and work great and the price was reasonable. 10/10 service, will definitely hire for future projects.

As always with Beekman Company, they are prompt, fast and very knowledgeable. His price is not the cheapest, but you always get more than you paid for.

I loved the fact they were on time, clean, professional, and courteous through the whole process. They ended up doing a lot of different things for me. They replaced and moved a chandelier that was not centered in the room. The chandelier was very heavy and they did it without any issues. They also installed a button for the garbage disposal, USB outlets throughout the home, charging outlets, 3 led mirrors in the bathrooms. They also installed about 8 fans for the home as well. If I changed my mind or added anything additional, they were very accommodating and came prepared for the work needed. I felt they were very resonable and very pleased with the end product I received. I would highly recommend them and I plan to hire them again soon.
