*Beware of long review on why not to hire* On 12/20/20 I signed a pool construction contract with Backyard Innovation owned by Kris and Christy Macri. What I thought would be exciting 2-3 month constructions project became an expensive year-long nightmare. Excavation commenced on 4/3/21 but was halted the same day because Kris and Christy failed to properly locate the electrical line prior to excavation and a line was almost damaged. The excavation was completed on 4/20/21 after having line re-routed. Then for the next 8 months, there were multiple delays, excuses, and requested for more money above the contract price. Finally, in Mid-November, they started tiling my pool. I was told they would complete the tiling, the plumbing and the electrical portion over the next week. Of course, this did not happen. It took 2 weeks to complete the tile. The plumbing was completed a couple of days before Christmas which left my backyard and front yard a mess and the electric portion was never completed. I sent a text to Chris and Christy stating how my front and backyard was left. For a couple days I received no replies but then receive a text on 12/17/21 from Kris that all of his crews are off till the 2nd week in January and he would have the cleanup done in the 2nd week in January. I decided not to let this ruin my first Christmas with my family and will deal with it after Christmas. The next time I got reply from Kris and Christy was not until 1/12/22 after sending two texts for updates after the New Year. Surprise, again they asked for more money to complete my pool. At this time, I decided to fire them. A pool renovation company was willing to take over my pool project and started work in mid-March 2022. Since then, they have found multiple things wrong with Kris and Christy work (plumbing leaks, in floor cleaning system incorrectly working in certain areas of the pool and poorly poorly poured shotcrete instead of gunite). I paid for what I thought was gunite.

We chose Backyard Innovations among others for many reasons: best prise, 3d design, and promise to build it quik for a season. My huge pool and deck were build in less then a months, we are really happy with the end result and a whole proses. Kris were very attentive, his team were on time, respectful and cleaned afterwords. There were no hidden or additional charges. We enjoy our pool for two months now: happy with equipment, and pool runs so well, we have not even cleaned it ones! Thank you Kris!!

Kris and his crew were excellent in project management, service, quality and most of all seervice. After doing research on 5 other pool builders, we chose Backyard innovations based on design and quality products he uses. We received a quote in 2 days, was willing to negotiate and very knowledgeable about all products. Kris was available any time I needed him and was at the house almost every day checking on the crews and work production.
