Early Spring 2022, we had Geo-Insulation do Radiant Barrier Paint in our attic and garage. This job included leveling off the insulation in both areas where it existed and completing the garage insulation for us. I have held off on reviews as I wanted to be able to see if year over year the electric bills changed much. I can't be certain of the savings success but despite the weather being much warmer this summer our energy bills are remaining pretty flat year-over-year. The service and professionalism of the company were great. Appointments from estimation through to job completion were all kept on-time and even early as I recollect. I definitely recommend Geo-Insulation, Tom Porter (Owner), and the product solution to others.

Tom was very professional and did a great job. He was on time and got the job done quickly. We had a question about the insulation and a heated vent we have in our bathroom after he had finished and left and he came back that same afternoon to check out our concern, we felt very reassured and it was very nice of him to come back and check it for us. We are renters so we didn’t pay for the service ourselves but our interaction with Tom was exceptional.

Geo Insulation gets a five star for all-around great service. The initial responses time to hear back from them was less than 24hrs. The owner Tom Porter, came out to our home within the week to give us a bid on insulating our attic above our garage and installing insulation panels on our garage door. Tom was thorough at explaining all the details of the project and sent us an email within 24hrs with the cost of the bid. The next week the project was scheduled. Tom and his crew did exceptional work and paid attention to detail finishing of garage door parks beautifully. We couldn't be happier with Geo Insulation and would recommend them without hesitation.

We had Geo-Insulation add about 8”of blown insulation in the attic of our 11 year old home to put a good cover over all exposed water lines and provide a thicker (approximately 16-18”) “blanket” to maximize the home’s thermal efficiency. We were very pleased with Tom’s professionalism, communication, price and work. Going with Geo was an easy choice. We certainly recommend giving them a look.

Our single story home, built in 1997, has always had a very hot attic during the San Antonio summers. Our central A/C & gas furnace and hot water heater are located in the attic, adding to the attic’s air temperature. After a goodly amount of on-line research on local attic insulation companies, we invited Geo-insulation to provide us an analysis of our existing insulation and recommendations for those areas that may require improvement. The owner, Tom Porter, is truly an expert in insulation, providing us a clear and totally understandable analysis of our current attic insulation state, the suite of appropriate solutions, identification of recommended solutions, and their associated costs. There was absolutely no upsell attempted, in fact Tom explained why the more efficient/effective (and expensive) insulation method, radiant barrier foam, would likely not be appropriate for our attic. We contracted to have additional blown-in insulation added to the home’s original batt insulation to bring it up to code, and opted for the radiant barrier paint to help divert heat from entering through the roof. The contract provided by Tom completely explained the work to be done, as well as the exact cost for each component. Tom and his crew arrived early in the morning scheduled for the job to install the insulation, and it was clear they were a very experienced, coordinated team. Two months later (July), we have clearly noticed a significant reduction in living area temperatures, especially in mid-morning to early afternoon when our relatively new central A/C used to begin almost constant operation. We would not hesitate to employ Geo-insulation in the future for our insulation needs.

Tom is awesome! He's super professional and was a pleasure to do business with. His work is first class and the job was done on time. Tom really goes above and beyond - he even filled out all the CPS rebate paperwork, all I had to do was send it! I know that he'll be my first call for any insulation work I need done in the future.

Excellent! very clean! Already effective with temperature

Tom and his crew were excellent. I interviewed 5 companies and Tom offered a reasonable price, (out bid 1 other company by more than $1000). Good quality materials and professional installation. The crew showed up on time, kept me informed about when the job would be started and finished. Also Tom, the owner, went beyond by promising to return in 6 months, 1 year and 2 years to make sure everything is working properly.

Workers were punctual and finished ahead of schedule. Cleaned up and they were on the way. Good works, no hassle.

Tom Porter was 1 of the 3 bids I received for my attic insulation project. He is professional, covers all the bases and gives you a detailed bid for his services. Make sure Geo Insulation is on your bid list for any insulation projects.

Tom Porter came to see the space and get details of what I needed. The job had been started and half finished a few years ago and the previous contractor was not able to finish but materials had been purchased. Tom was willing to complete it even though it was a small job. He arrived promptly on the day scheduled and completed the job very quickly and efficiently. There was no mess left behind. He even provided paperwork for an energy rebate from our electric company with a stamped envelope to send it in! Extremely courteous and professional. I would definitely use his services again in the future.

Tom was very professional and personable. He and his crew were prompt, courteous, and kept the area clean. Our dryer vent had somehow come apart and he fixed that at no charge. In addition, the air conditioner tape had separated where the duct enters the unit and he fixed that at no charge also. When he arrived I told him that everything in the attic was supposed to have been taken down but wasn't. He and his crew did that for me and put everything neatly to one side of the garage. It cost less than I thought it would and I'm going to get a $511 rebate from CPS. He already had the paperwork filled out for me including the envelope and stamp. All I had to was put it in the mailbox.

Tom initially came out to give me a quote on having insulation installed in my attic since mine hadn't been replaced sine it was built in 1986. He was very detailed in explaining the types and benefits of each type of insulation. Ultimately, he helped me choose the best fit for my home and budget without pressuring me or attempting to "sell" me on extras I did not need. I did not commit to the purchase when he came out to give me the estimate because I wanted to shop around and get other quotes. However, the salesman that came out for Green-Energy was not near as professional or helpful in choosing insulation. I chose to go with Geo-Insulation mainly because of the professionalism, and kindness that Tom showed me from day 1. When I was ready for the installation Tom was at my house with another technician within the week. I appreciated that he was never pushy, and then did an excellent job. I am left feeling like I can pick up the phone anytime if I have concerns about the insulation, and Tom will assist me without any trouble. If you're looking for insulation installation, I highly suggest giving Geo-Insulation the job. They were all you expect in customer service and job quality. Thank you Tom!!!

GREAT! No problems whatsoever. Had a roof vent put in by another contractor and Geo-insulation (Tom Porter) coordinated his work with them to insulate that part of the house that had no access. He and his team arrived before early and worked with the other contractor and completed the work seamlessly! Very professional in every respect! Would highly recommend Geo-insulation to others and would hire again if I ever need any kind of insulation work done. Thanks again to Tom and his crew!

I can't say enough to express my satisfaction of this company. When I first spoke with the owner (Tom Porter), I picked his brain for economical suggestions and options. Mr. Porter was up front and honest with me the entire process (there were no surprises or "I forgot to tell you...") Mr. Porter was not only professional, punctual, and sincere, he went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction on the insulation of our home. He scheduled two meetings prior to install to ensure not only pricing but any unforeseen changes or issues. Once we agreed, that was it. There were a couple of issues that required additional material and labor but he was professional and true to his word saying, "A deal is a deal." Not charging any additional. He introduced me all his employees so I knew who was installing the insulation. If that wasn't enough, you know its a great business when you have the owner (Mr. Porter) also installing and assisting of the insulation! He advised us it was going to be a two day turn around and he made true on his word. They were there both days from 7am to 8pm both days. I can honestly say I've never seen a crew work harder to get the job done and get it done right! Thank you Mr. Porter for a much appreciated job well done! In addition, the quality of material and labor exceeded what I expected.

Outstanding! I just did a complete remodel and room additions to a 100+ year old home in Monta Vista. Geo Insulation was the best part of the entire project. Impeccable professional service. We have an older home which had been renovated by the previous home owner to some degree, but had next to no insulation. Our energy bills in late 2013 indicated it was overdue, so I searched Angie's List and this company did not come up in my search (maybe something wrong with the website that day), nor could I find it by name here the day I was searching. Instead, Mr. Tom Porter with Geo-Insulation was referred to me be a neighborhood social media website when I solicited neighbors for a referral. I got 3 bids for the project overall; 2 companies I chose from Angie's List and the 3rd from my neighbors. In the end, I went with Geo-Insulation because of what he said and did. I knew it was a circus up in our attics and wanted to see what each company would/wouldn't do/say in addition to cost. 3 attics, 3 entrance points. Of the 3 companies I had come out, only Tom Porter inspected all 3 of them and only Mr. Porter told us about the giant pile of rolled insulation laying in a corner of the new addition (I knew of it, just didn't realize how massive it was). The other two companies didn't bother going in two of the attics. Mr. Porter quickly discovered our duct work was falling apart (another insulation company and a previous AC company had pointed out the same problems to us) but Mr. Porter found that the duct system had atrophied to a point we could no longer ignore, which explained our sky-high energy bills (we were heating our attic!). Mr. Porter recommended R-38 insulation, while the other two companies recommended R-42 and R-48, which I used the Department of Energy's website to see that R-38 was indeed the recommended value for San Antonio. Mr. Porter wrote up an estimate of the work he would do and recommended an AC company for us to contact if we needed a new one (see my review on Wilk's Heating and AC). We had to have our duct work done before the insulation, but Mr. Porter worked with scheduling with the duct work accordingly. Our original date for the work got ruined by an ice storm, but Mr. Porter was quick to reschedule with us for the following weekend. He and his team ran an efficient, clean operation. Mr. Porter was always on time, prompt to respond, and professional. We went way over budget on our attic project, but that was because we had the ductwork replaced (wish our home inspector had caught the duct work issues before we bought the house). Before the new ducts and insulation, our electric HVAC struggled to heat the house to 58 degrees on nights where we dipped into the 30's, after the project our house stays at 60 degrees (where I keep it in the winter) without having to run continuously, heck I could turn it up and the house could be warmer if I wanted! Overall, we are very happy with this project and look forward to seeing the final rebate values we should be getting from CPS Energy for both the insulation and the ductwork. I really look forward to feeling the difference in the summer months when I see our energy bills. My lessons learned from this project: 1) If you're buying an older home, get an engineer to inspect your home, one who knows ducts, electrical, plumbing, foundations, the big stuff, not the cosmetic inspectors. 2) If you need insulation work, Geo-Insulation is a must contact on your list!
