Capitol Air conditioning Services

I prepared the original review, below, for YELP, but I neglected to post it on Angie's list. I felt like I needed to do this after Martin Davis, owner of Capitol Air Conditioning, came out to do my Air Conditioning Tune-Up on 4/24/14 (no-charge as part of my 10-year guarantee program). I have nothing but good things to say about the service provided or about Martin as a respectable contractor and person. Here is the former YELP review- it was easier to post it again than to be creative a second time.

Let me first say that I talked to about 10 air conditioning contractors about a large HVAC project in my home- a large, historic house that did not previously have air conditioning. This was a difficult job- certainly not a cookie cutter installation and many of the contractors did not bid it. Martin was the exception. He was excited about the job. He did a great job of follow-up. He offered solutions that the others did not. He looked for ways to make the job more cost-competitive. He conducted himself as if he wanted to continue the relationship- honest, met commitments, and did follow-up activity that was not required by the contract... and did not charge for it. I am very pleased with how the system looks and performs. Martin did the work himself, with just one helper. He included a 10-year parts/labor warranty on his work and will schedule 2-visits/year at no-charge to maintain the system. I can't think of a single way that the product and process could have been improved. Can I award 6-stars?

I recently called Martin when the fan motor on our home AC system would not come on. As luck would have it, the fan came on when he turned the system on. He checked the system thoroughly – tightened wire connections, checked coolant levels, etc.
Despite the time he spent, he said he could not charge us since he didn’t fix anything. You just don’t find that kind of service anymore. He was very friendly and clearly very knowledgeable about his trade. We feel lucky to have found his name on Angie’s List and will call him the next time we have an AC problem.
