The bid called for contractor to pull molding and carpeting. We insisted on a written agreement. The contractor stayed within the price agreed, except for sealing cracks in the concrete, which we agreed to have him do as extra work not stipulated.
The contractor was friendly and punctual, but at the end of the job another customer started calling him and he seemed to be anxious to move onto the next job. The thresholds required going from wood to carpet at the door sills. The contractor told me that he "did not do carpets". I had to hire another contractor to come out and tack the carpet down at the doors. This seemed very strange to me since the contractor said he had over 26 years of flooring experience. Contractor offered haul off the old carpet and trash for $100. I declined to pay this and disposed of this myself. This was unexpected.
After the flooring was laid the contractor started packing up. I asked if they were going to put the molding back down on the walls. He said that he had only agreed to pull the molding and I would have to have someone else do that job. I asked what he would charge to do this and he said $240. I have a bad back, so I was reluctant to to this myself, but I did. The job took less than an hour.
Although they cleaned the glue from the floor, my wife is still trying to get what was left off of it. My opinion is that this contractor will do a good job of whatever you have stipulated in advance but no more. This is consistent with "buyer beware", so I hold no ill will toward him. I just wish I had known better what to stipulate.
While they fulfilled the contract as written, I don't feel they had much pride in the finished product.

Kenny McClendon started a tile job for me. I was displeased with his unprofessionalism and the quality of his work. When I told him I wanted to change an area of tile that was done improperly, he became aggressive and verbally attacked me in my own home. I felt so threatened by him, that I paid him the money he asked me to pay him which was more than we had agreed on. He insisted I pay him in cash and I was barely able to get a receipt from him. He left the job half done so I had to hire someone else to finish his work. The tile job ended up costing me $500 more than what I had budgeted due to so much of McClendon's work had to be redone and also the fact that he scammed a single woman out of at least $300. I would not hire this man for any kind of work. He is very scarey and I have even received threatening phone calls from him which I have turned over to the Shereiff's office. Do not hire Kenny McClendon!le

Their price was really reasonable for what we had done. They were on time and they always did what they said they would do. They are really good people. Their price was right there where everyone else was. These guys went above and beyond and did an excellent job. They cleaned up well and I had no problems with them. They were always polite and well-groomed and they were people you would want to have in your house, trustworthy people. They responded the next day or even that night when I called them. These people really knew what they were doing. I have highly recommended them to my friends. I would most definitely use them again.
