"This job unfortunately did not proceed as planned as described by the customer, however there are several elements of this review that are either simply untrue or malicious in nature. The job did go past schedule. This is a weekend/vacation home for the customer, and it was agreed upon from the beginning that it may take longer than expected due to the customer (interior designer, not homeowner) not only not having ordered all materials, but was unwilling to order certain materials (vanity, sink, lights, etc) until the last week I was on site. These are special order and to my knowledge will not arrive for another 4-5 weeks, and should have been ordered prior to job start. Customer also continually added large changes to the scope of work and expected no delays due to the addition. As previously stated, this was a vacation home, at one point in the project, during the Christmas holiday, the homeowner requested that I stop work for approx. one week while he used the home, accounting for the overage on schedule. As far as percentage completion, according to the original contract I had with this customer, the only remaining items were vanity installation, baseboard installation, and grout on the tile when I left. I had completed several additional details, (approx. 300 sq ft of tongue/groove cedar accent walls and cedar closet, framing/casing of window that was agreed at the beginning of the job was not my responsibility, stucco texturing an entire bedroom wall, some minor roof repair, some minor framing repair in the attic, and reframing a bathtub surround because she didn't like the way it looked although it was originally built to exactly to manufacturer specs). According to original contracts, my work was at approx. 95% complete. The customer stated that I expected payment in full. This is also incorrect, as I had agreed to accept payment for work completed with deductions for unfinished aspects. I had also agreed to return to complete several of those aspects and was told not to. According to our conversation at that time, I had agreed to take less than full payment, and had not asked for any additional money for the additional work in an attempt to make the customer happy. The customer made reference to a bankruptcy in my past. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances in my life, I have filed bankruptcy several years ago, and have worked diligently for several years to recover from it. I am not proud of that fact, the only reason she is aware of this is because of a conversation we had about a certain bank, in which I revealed that I cannot do business with that bank any more because of the debt that was involved in that bankruptcy. The customer stated that I have not paid sub contractors that have worked for me in the past. This is an outright lie. I told her that I needed final payment so that I could recoup my payment to the plumber. I use one plumbing company exclusively, and have paid him at time services are"
