Mr. Perkins is a professional craftsman in every way. He was very honest and upfront about the costs involved in restoring this piano after he took it apart and examined it. I feel like he gave us an incredible value for all the hours of work and skill involved and I will definitely requests his service again.

Allan not only tuned our piano twice in the process, he re-worked the felts on each and every note, fine-tuning the tone and resonance throughout the entire range. Following his work, he re-tuned the piano, and now, it really sounds like the fine German musical instrument we first fell in love with. Allan Perkins of Perkins Piano Tuning is the only person we've ever let touch this instrument. We can recommend him not only for his professionalism and expertise, but also because of the quality person he is in every respect.

We will happily use Mr Perkins to tune our piano in the
future. He took great care to nurture our Kranich and Bach upright, which had
not been tuned since 1977, back into playing condition. Whoever tuned it in the
past had overlapped the wires around the tuning pegs in the lower register in
such a way that there would be increased risk of breaking them during
subsequent tunings. He got the job done without breaking a single string, which
was important to us since we are disabled and living on fixed income. As a
former piano performance major in college, I have a true appreciation for the
challenges he faced and the level of skill and patience required to complete
the job. We will consider Mr Perkins to be a welcome guest in our home every 6
months to care for our piano in the future. Thank you, Mr Perkins!

Very nice experience. Arrived when scheduled, He insisted on removing shoes at door. Worked on piano, played beautifully, explained to me what he was doing and how (just because I am curious). Will definitely be using him again!

It's an individual. I think the price was pretty reasonable. His charges were very fair. The company is a guy. I liked him. He was personable. He did a very good job. I was very pleased with the work he did. He came out to our home. I think he is excellent. He is quite skilled and one of the things I really liked about him is that he is very enthusiastic about his work. He particularly liked my piano. The piano is nothing flashy. It's a little Baldwin Acrosonic which is a spinet. Many musicians would tell you that it's probably the only spinet that is even worth considering if you wanted a piano.

Mr. Perkins is a very knowledgable gentleman. We had called him to come tune our old piano (one we had received free from a friend that had been in the garage for years) and tell us what it would need to get it back into playing shape. He arrived just as promised, and started to look at the piano. As I watched, we first discovered the piano was actually built in 1924!! He did a thorough check of it, and then suggested we sit down and talk through the options available for repair. It was an entire note flat, and due to its age and state of unuse, although the cabinet and soundboard were in good condition, the piano would need to be completely restrung and have new felts on the hammers. He told us that would cost approx $3000, and that it could take quite awhile to accomplish but it could be done, and then would play just fine. He also informed us that if we put that much into it, and then decided to sell it, it would be hard to recoup what we had invested. He advised me to check into the costs of some good gently used pianos for comparison (and no, he wasn't selling any), and recommended some good brands and what to look for, then left the decision up to us as to whether we wanted to repair the one we had or get a different one. We later decided to purchase a new piano, and will definitely have Mr. Perkins come to do any tuning that is needed!!

Arrived on time, well-dressed kind man. Worked diligently on repair of old piano. Recommended future repairs (much of the felt pads have begun to wear away).

This guy is awesome, really nice man. Not only tuned the piano, but showed our kids how everything works - the piano and all his tuning tools and instruments. Can't want till its time for the periodic retuning. Forgot the price he charged, but it was fine for the work done. The price above is a guess.
