Netflix has a DVD distribution center in Pittsburgh, so we get a new movie every other day through the mail (Return movie on Day 1, they get it on Day 2, We get the new movie on Day 2 or sometimes Day 3). What has really worked very well for us has been the expanding list of titles you can view on demand over the web. We watch those extensively, especially for the children's shows.
Description of Work: We have a monthly membership that allows us to have 4 DVDs at home at any one time, and unlimited online on demand movie playing.

 + 0 moreAbsolutely miserable. I may have considered using Netflix int he past, but this "gift" scheme puts me down as a rabid Netflix disliker, who things they run a criminal enterprise.
Description of Work: "Gift" membership was provided to me by daughter for Christmas. Netflix would not initiate membership until I provided them a credit card number so they could automatically continue to bill me at the end of the 6 months that were the supposed gift. This is too much like the Nigerian bank scam of send us money now and we will send you something later. This is the first time I have been given a "gift" that required me to pay for it. These people are disgusting using such a larcenous and misleading selling scheme.

 + -1 moreWe once accidentally sent back one of our dvds in the return envelope. Netflix contacted us and if we sent their disk back they would send ours back to us. Well, we sent our disk back in a friends return envelope with THEIR DISK TOO and they processed the whole thing without a hitch.
Description of Work: We use the one at a time service and the watch now extensively. Their streaming has gotten even better once we started using Windows Media Center.

 + -1 moreI am a member and am allowed 3 movies a day. As soon as you return a movie, they are ready to mail you another one. You tell them what movies you want and they get it for you. They have a lot of information on their website. You can get suggestions and biographies and I am so amazed at their efficiency.

I was planning to join, anyway, but I just hate being hustled.
Description of Work: I wanted to join and the clerk in demonstrating how to join said I should just click any movie to test the program. I did this and then ordered the film I wanted plus another which was supposed to be free. I thought this was a free offer, but in the verrry small type on the card offering free trial is said I must respond within 2 weeks unless I wanted to not join after receiving the movies. I was told that I was now a member and would be billed, including the one the clerk said was just a test.
