"Obviously this is WAY after the fact, I do apologize if no one responded to your message, I have not really utilized Angie's List in the past few years and we have just honestly been swamped. This is a very small business and we are generally booked up by the end of October. I would always be glad to give you a quote if you ever decided you needed one again, we do still install lights for your neighbor. Thank you for taking the time to give us your honest review."
"Fantastic Customer!! A+++"
I hope to be on her schedule for the Holiday Season!
THANK YOU, AMY & MICHAEL - the wedding reception was a party to remember ... and you made it magical!!
"WOW! What a great review!! We are honored to still have you as a customer you and your family were a pleasure to work with!!"
"After extensively searching my records, I was unable to locate your information. Are you sure you didn't get the wrong company? If you could message me your phone number I would like to search my phone records just to double check, but as of now I have no customer record of you. If we had done your lights we certainly would have come back to take them down, as that is one of my biggest pet peeves, leaving lights up is NOT something we do. I look forward to hearing back from you. Thank you, Amy Hamilton"
"We were happy to brighten up your Holidays! We hope to continue to business with you for many years to come! Amy Hamilton"
I like the LED lights that she uses which don't affect my utility bills as much.
When lights have gone out, they are prompt to come and replace the bulbs.
Overall I am pleased with the work they have done and will continue to use their service.
"Thank you so much for taking the time to submit a review! We appreciate your business, we know there are many service providers out there and we are honored that you choose us to help make your home more beautiful for the holidays!"
On day of installation, neighbor was having her lights installed, the guy quoted me 1/3 of the price that I ended up paying. He will get my business next year.
"First let me just clarify that the entire front of the home is covered by trees, which made it nearly impossible to give an ESTIMATE. I made sure to let you know that in the initial emails. We installed lights on the front as well as on the sides which were as long if not longer than the front. The estimate CLEARLY states that it is just that, an estimate NOT a quote. With the roofline of the house being completely obstructed there would be no way to tell exactly how many lights were needed or how the slope on the roof was, which plays a large part in the price of installation. After installing lights on the roof, I contacted you to let you know that we had reached the amount that was estimated and we did not want to go ahead with more lights without your approval at which time you sent me an email calling me a criminal and demanding that we come back to light the trees which we did at no additional charge to you. I hope that you are able to get what you want and pay the price that you feel is fair."
"Thank you for taking the time to post a review. Actually if you will remember, in 2012 you were given a deal that had been offered for a very short period of time after it had expired the deal was a $700 package for $500. We honored it for you because you found us on Angie's list. I will take responsibility for the lack of communication between my installer and myself, but I was not aware at all that you were not happy with the finished product. If you had mentioned it when we were there finishing the job we could have done what we could to fix it. Please also keep in mind that each time we came out your entire yard as well as the driveway was a sheet of ice. The gutters were completely full of ice, and there were 3ft mounds of ice in the landscaping which made it extremely difficult to install any lights without taking extra time and effort to chip the ice out of the gutters and away from the ground where any lights or cords would be in order to safely conceal them. We thought the lights looked great and as a matter of fact I had even used a photo of this years installation on my Facebook page and people thought it was lovely. We only want for you to be happy with our work but we can not change something if we don't know that you are unhappy with it. Please don't hesitate to let us know what we need to do different in the future to ensure that you are getting what you want. Thank you, Amy Hamilton"
"THANK YOU SO MUCH! That really means a lot to us! I have been terribly worried about not getting back to everyone this year, I guess that is just something I may have to get used to, being on Angie's list just has us totally swamped with requests. I try to keep it as personal as possible. It makes us feel better to know that we are still able to provide outstanding service to the customers that we do have. Thank you so much!"
"I apologize for your wait, I did actually search my emails and was unable to find yours. Please understand that I try to keep my business as personal as possible and we just get bombarded with calls, texts, emails during the Holiday Season. I sincerely apologize if you feel like you received less than great service, I do try very hard to get back with everyone in a timely manner. Thanks to Angie's list we are just going to have to expand more and more to try to keep up with all of the requests. Please have a great holiday and I do hope that you were able to find a great company to install your lights this year!"
Since she is personally overseeing the installation - the installation was near perfect.
They worked until way past dark - and when she left she even gave my dog a bag of treats!
This is a family owned business that obviously takes alot of pride in their work product. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone!
I suggest you contact her early next year (before November) because she will be filling all her available slots pretty quick (yes she is that good) . I contacted her in October and I think that was almost too late.
"Thank you so much! We try very hard to please our customers!"
"Thank you for taking the time to post a review! I know that the estimate may have seemed high but we did estimate that it would take about 300 feet of lights to light you home. You requested BLUE icicle lights, these are special order items and they have to be professional quality (not the kind you buy at the discount stores) in order to string this many (33.3 strings @ 9ft per string) together without having issues with breakers, etc. The lights alone not including labor, cords, clips, timers, etc. would have cost me over $500. I certainly was not trying to make a fortune off of you. I would have been more than happy to work with you by using some lights I had in stock in order to keep the cost to you down, but I was never given the opportunity. I hope you are able to find someone to do the job for the price you are willing to pay, but maybe you could consider these things before the next F rating you give someone. These reports can make or break a business and I take them very seriously, just as I do trying to make your holiday as great and stress free as possible. Happy Holidays! :)"
Finally she said she could go down to $500 if they installed the lights prior to Nov 3rd. She said a lot of customers choose this route in order to get a discount and they just turn the lights on when they want. They choose this because she is too expensive.
I have no idea how much she would charge if I didn't already have all the lights, hardware, timers etc. And then to give only one service call during the time the lights are on is absurd. Oh! she did say they would remove the lights. That's no incentive to pay such an outrageous price anyone would remove the lights if they put them up. In my humble opinion Amys Lights are too pricey, Amy is over her head with so many customers she can't really give good customer service. I wish I could use my old guy but he is no longer doing it.
"I am sorry that you feel like we are not customer oriented. The reason the estimate was $700-800 is because of the distance for my installers, the outlining of a two story roof, the outlining of 7 windows as well as the doorway arch, the lights along the fence, lighting all of the bushes, and the trees. Also, we would only provide one service call free because we can not guarantee lights that we do not provide, we are not in control of how old the lights are or of the condition that they are in. We can not be held liable for lights in a condition unknown to us. I apologize that you feel like we are too expensive, I can only tell you that the estimates given are just that, estimates, if we had come out to do the job and it was less work than I originally thought then we would have lowered the cost to you. I am sorry that it took me so long to respond to your first contact attempts, that was very early in the season and I guess I just had not expected to get any customer requests at that early of a date. That is completely my fault and I do take full responsibility for not getting back to you in a more timely manner. I try to get back to everyone as quickly as possible. I hope that you are able to find another installer to do the job to your liking at that price. Possibly someone who is closer to your location would have an easier time coming out on a regular basis to replace old lights bulbs."
"Happy to serve you! :)"
Like one of the other reviewers, Amy talked to me about LED lighting. It's more expensive (one-time cost for the lights), but they will last longer, and I'll make it up on electricity savings. She was able to use a WARM white, rather than the bright white that LEDs usually are. Even though I have a small cottage, we decided on C9s.
She was, and is, very responsive (I've asked to purchase additional LED C9s for my back yard, where I've been using regular C9s... many have gone out).
She's just a great resource, which is terrific value-add, for my questions about these things. They guarantee the lights. If one goes out during the season, they will come to replace it. Her crew was completely professional; they showed up on time and did the work easily and professionally.
The lights are dark-activated, and I just have to set the timer for the number of hours I want each night. So, for example, it may become dark at 5:30, the lights will go on and will stay on for 6 hours... until the next time they are activated by the evening light!
Fantastic! I look forward to working with Amy and her team for many years to come.
"WOW! Thank you so much! We try to tailor each installation to each individual customers needs, and you were a pleasure to work with! Generally, we rent the lights to the customer but we also offer the option to purchase the lights if that is the customers choice. We offer off site storage for them as well. Member we look forward to working with you for many years to come! Happy Holidays! :)"
"We were glad to meet you! We hope to continue a great business relationship for many years to come!"
"It was a pleasure doing business with you also! We hope to to serve you for many years to come!"
"Thank you for the great review on Angie's list! We truly value you as a customer and we hope to continue to provide outstanding service to you and your family!"
