Computer Repair
The computer took 3 and 1/2 months to fix. We will never purchas anything from them again.

Computer Sales
My most recent visit to Fry's was late in the day on Saturday after Black Friday. They had some good sales in the Saturday ad. It was crowded but not packed. As I walked back to the component department, a Fry's salesman asked if I needed help. I hade a list of about 10 items from the ad that I wanted to look at. He knew where several of them were and walked with me to pick them out. He knew that they were out of stock of one of them. For the rest, he checked the stock on the computer (they had all the rest in stock.) and led me through the store to find most of them, getting help from the salespeople in the department as needed. Two of the items were in the audio department which I could easily find on my own. This salesman was remarkably knowledgeable about the computer-related items on my list. I was blown away with this level of service and knowledge and with the fact that they still had all but one of the items in stock including those that were free or almost free after rebate.
This salesman was spectacular but most of the sales staff in recent years have very good. I just sent in the customer comment form to the Fry's home office. I think this is the longest Angie's List comment I have ever written, by far. Several of the comments on the list about Fry's were negative. I wanted to share my opposite experience. I think most of the problems were with repair services so maybe that explains the difference.

THEY WERE ABLE TO RECOVER ALL MY DATA. THEY ALSO DID IT IN A MINIMAL AMOUNT OF SERVICE TIME. I WAS VERY PLEASED.
